Can't find cadmium hotspot

I am on a world with cadmium, gold and sodium. I have found about a dozen gold hotspots, a handful of sodium hotspots, but I cannot find a single cadmium hotspot. Are these just really rare, or do some world just not have them, even thought it's a listed resource for the world?

If cadmium is listed in the planet's list of resources, then a hotspot is there, you've just been really unlucky finding it.

could be also that u need to look further from ur current base, like around globe. (check north pole, south pole, equator)

also u can create cadmium with chromatic metal + cadmium

Buy a C class star ship weapon upgrade. Install and dismantle it. That gives you 125 cd.
Dump it into a refiner with chromatic metal and mo cd.

And yeah, I've hit the same problem. "XXX present" does not mean "XXX abundant" and that trick is far easier.

I'm beginning to think they purposefully nerf the probability of higher value hotspots. I've jumped to several worlds, and my hotspot search is always the same. Ten low value hotspots for every high value hotspot. I'm on a world right now with ammonia, emiril and magnetized ferrite. I have found 6-7 ammonia hotspots, one magnetized ferrite, and zero emirils. Every world I go to, it's the same thing.

I wonder if hotspot distribution is controlled by the Natural Resources difficulty setting. I play Custom Game and my resource availability is set to Abundant and I have no problem finding hotspots for the minerals I need. Finding EM power spot near can be tricky though. You may be playing on higher difficulty setting where resource availability is set to Standard or Scarce.

Sometime the visor shows a spot and when you go there there is nothing :P But that is a glitch I assume.
