where is a storm planet? I need some storm crystals
I read that storm crystals are found on "extreme weather" planets. I can't find such a planet. I must be missing something. Anybody know the location of said planet?

you will mostly find these on planets in red blue or green system. just look for a planet that has active indium etc. they mostly have storm crystals. you can get them also as reward from nexus missions or missions in space stations

You can sometimes find "extreme weather" planets during the Nexus weekend mission.

When you scan a planet from space, any planet that shows "Activated" <anything> (Copper, Emeril, Indium, etc) meets the requirements to spawn Storm Crystals.

However until you land and search for the yellow lighting bolt icon during an "Extreme storm" will you know for sure.

Some planets "can" have Activated materials AND Extreme storms but simply do not spawn storm crystals.

I did a multi player mision that made me collect storm crystals, and it sent me to a planet that had them. Then the quest let me keep the crystals I collected so I was able to use them on my single player game.

If you are playing the Expedition, just go to a station and check the base names in the teleport listings. Usually, at least one or more will indicate that the base is a source for storm crystals among other things.

That is what I did tonight. The storm came and went out and collected what I needed. Then I teleported out again.

If the planet has activated stellar metals (copper, cadmium, emeril, indium) its an extreme planet. This doesn't mean that its an extreme weather planet it could be an extreme sentinel planet. Not all extreme weather planets produce storm crystals and storm crystals can only be seen in your visor when its storming.

You can tell if the planet has storm crystals when its not storming by looking at the rock formations. If the planet has these formations they will be come storm crystals when a storm starts. (You can actually see parts of the storm crystal inside the rock formation.)

Not all volcano planets have them, and they can fake you out because they sometimes have rocks that look like storm crystals. The giveaway is if the glowing lines in them aren't blue.

Oh, no. Is that what those are? I saw a mess of those the other day and had no idea what I was looking at. At least now I know there's a planet with them somewhere along my back path.
