Yep, I think for a lot of us the limit is so high we don't have to think about it. It's like..450 bases, I think? I don't recall for sure.
Obviously it's low enough that OP does have to think about it though. So I understand his plea.
Not seeing how having more solves any problems and seems like it would just be confusing to have that many. How could you even keep track. It would take a long time just to visit each one for 1 minute each.
16000/400 = 40 parts per base. The fact you could keep it under 40 parts per base so far is pretty good. Just delete some of your bigger bases and replace them with small ones, as that clears space for you. Also go back and remove any portable items from the landscape like save points and beacons...all of those things subtracts from your construction total, too.
I think my "Basic Base" is 20 to 25 parts, so I should be able to build over 600 bases before I hit the wall.
1,000,000 / 9 = 111, 111 seconds
111,111 / 60 = 1852 minutes
1852 / 60 = 31 hours
More hours there are in a day.
They could also organize searches better, too, so you don't actually have to scroll through all of them to get to one also. I only bring this up because even with only a few hundred bases it is already getting tedious to scroll through them all.
(1) reduce your bases. Have multiple resources at one location. Search for minerals at a portal and retire your old mine, that kind of thing.
(2) .. and this is the main one .. export your bases to text files. Using goatfungus editor, backup first.. then if you edit raw JSON and in the first section go to the persistent player bases section then the numbers are your bases. CUT one you want to archive and paste into a text file. I use brackets code manager. Then save the save file and reload and the base will be gone.
Let's be honest, there are some bases that you know you could do better but don't want to lose forever. Those are the ones to remove into text files. You can always bring them back if you need them .
I actually paste them into my kids games .. it's more fun for them to have bases to mess with, but you could just as easy have another game save you paste all your old bases into so you can still easily visit them if you want to.
400 bases per save? What does it means?
Thanks a lot for the responses
Uhm... it means you can have a maximum of 400 bases per save.
Exploring does not require bases... Just sayin'...
