Apart from the eggs, it gives you all the required ingredients to 'bake' the cake.
If you finished this milestone and select the milestone "SweetTooth", it should also give you an instruction how to make the cake, otherwise you can use the link below to get the recipe.

Note: The website has ads.
but either way you dont need it for the cake.
Think I used grah grah but you could even use cactus.
as for sticky 'honey'? i managed to find a small jumping mushroom lifeform on a world in a system not far off one of the rendezvous coordinates. it took a bit longer than expected because most of the animals are milk producers with the occasional egg layer.
I don't understand why OP is having issues, unless he sold it or stashed it somewhere and doesn't recall doing so.
when i did the second cake i threw out all the immediates and raw items and started over. i managed to find everything, but stick 'honey' was harder to find. so using that sticky stuff in butter to create sweetened butter and a few other ingredients and i made a different cake that was considered a work of art to Cronus.
it wasn't just the cake, but harvesting the raw materials and putting into practice what i learned from the example provided in the mission. i'd rather be taught to fish to eat for a lifetime than be given the fish to be eaten for the day.

i saw that on the second attempt. there was a guide i ran across with a link to some nms assistant website that offered some details how to make things and their raw materials as well as how cronus viewed the quality of the item. I know Jaggid mentioned that it's a random element if the item presented to Cronus will be accepted a few days back, but rather not discount any possibility involved.
But yeah, i didn't realise just how many different cake, donuts and pies there are.. and they say the cake is a lie! xD
Enter a system go to your map and look at the planet details > Creatures count > Higher number means more opportunity to find a:
Blob - they bounce hop and twirl some have many eyes
Slug - they are smaller than you and even if you don't see them they are the most vocal creature that make a DEEP "WHAAHH" sound near open cave entrances.
Green Star system are almost a given for finding Honey:
Biomes by chance:
Anonymous
Toxic
Gamma Radioactive
Desert for the cone shaped dripping honey plants, See them from your ship. land, scan, harvest: profit. Strafe from air once you scan multiple plant types as the secondary element is honey.
Yep, pretty much. Though more complicate items do have a better chance, it still does just boil down to RNG. He's running a real racket there, getting all that free food and then just spinning a wheel to see if you win.
