I was wondering.
So with your mod enabled can you name something "Adephagia"?
Are you on PC Steam?
and the game didnt censor it.
So, first thing I did after they mentioned that you could mod the profanity filter off was to do so. I confirmed, it's off by swearing a bunch.
Anyway, the answer to your question is NO. You still cannot name something Adephagia. The Discovery servers appear to have their own filters, server side, and it blocks it when you try to rename.
Did the same, created a mod that holds the profanity filter dictionary in the TPFSDICT/PROFANITYDICTIONARY_FL-FL.BIN flle from the NMSARC.FE28D146.PAK
ProfanityFilter_x64_v120.dll resides outside of any NMS *PAK file and I believe this is the holdup.
I figured it was dropping the s and adding a y to the letters after is a slur for the 'traveller' community. Ironic in a game about lone wanderers travelling billions of miles through the universe.
What also doesn't work well with english would be censoring words for containing profanity,
as you get words to trigger it such as "assume" "pass" or "passion" from one profanity alone.
Yeah, it's very overzealous.
Which makes sense being it's made by the British. :P
I can say that because my many times great-grandfather was Lord Baltimore, the first cousin to the King of England. :P
Hey, watch it you! hahaha.
Bloody cheeky fellow! xD
i live in the uk. but seriously though, i do agree it seems a bit off.
