2. Free to Play weekends will almost never happen for indie games especially games like No Man's Sky, the game is fairly cheap and steam has a refund system where if you play less than 2 hours and haven't owned a game for 2 weeks you can refund it so there is zero risk of losing money if you don't enjoy it.
if you suddenly realize youve been playing for 8 hours, chances are you like the game enough to keep it
Will almost never... you do realize that your own answer implies that it can happen... DO YOU???... <sigh>
And what does it even mean "games especially games like No Man's Sky" ??? What?! NMS is one of the kind you idiot so far there was no OTHER games like NMS.
I can buy 2 AAA titles with 60 euro. Fairly cheap for steam standards in like 35 euro
----------
Right... you do realize that in this game you need different computing power when on small planet and different when on very huge planet? Sure in 2 hours you can learn something but you can't test your gaming rig properly. For that you would need to play this game a bit longer and travel trough various planets to know for sure that PC can handle the game.
I don't know what it is with this stupid steam community where everyone behave like they have some brain fart and undermine everything what other person says.
"HOW DARE YOU HAVE OPINION YOU IDIOT ARRRRrrrrr"
"YOU ARE #&$*# &#@% $*@# &@$ ARRRrrrrr"
No Mans Sky is a sandbox that is (ALMOST) a single player game (You have One out of 18,000,000,000 if not more chances to find another player) and its a indie game. The devs would lose so much money from putting it up for free even for a day and steam wouldn't allow it, most games that get free weekends are all online games that have been out for a long time and could use a boost in players or devs do it when they put out new DLC, No Man's Sky fits almost none of these things and won't ever, also if 60 Euro is more than average price for games for you then you should get a job or get off steam if you're too young to get a job, I am not calling you dumb for wanting a free weekend its kinda understandable because who doesn't like free stuff, but logiclly it shouldn't and won't happen.
If someone comes with a suggestion, instead of just spamming crap, say why you think it should/shouldnt happen!
Personally, I think a free weekend will make it a higher posibility to find other players planets, which in itself would bring more people into the game. Also, its a sandbox game, so it would lose nothing from a free weekend. On the other hand, people would buy it to continue on their work ;)
Also they are indie devs, a free weekend even a month after launch will make them lose a decent ammount of profit.
All you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are just kids with no money or adults with no jobs who cannot buy a game for only 60 dollars. This isn't some big company with 100s of devs this is just 10 devs in a small building making a game that wasn't even planned, it was just a concept that they slowly started working on intill it became a full thing, give the damn devs the money they deserve for this huge amazing game they made and spent years of their lives making.
What?
Wouldn't allow what? There are other games on steam with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ f2p weekends (Ghost is the shell p2p game had one few days ago) not to mention Early Access where you can play games when they are not even half done so tell me what steam wouldn't allow?
Again "most games".... your own words imply that other games get these "free weekends". DO YOU think when you post something?
FYII most of game outside of steam have open betas all the time not to mention that there was time when every effing game had DEMO ver. which any1 could play to test the game.
Do you have some disco ball which tells you what will be in the future or you just pull bs out of your arse?
There are games which still are in early access and have f2p events.
Average steam prices is 49.99 so 59.99 is CLEARLY above average you ... ehh w/e
First of all you are an ignorant.
Secondly just because one have money it doesn't mean that he should spend money and count only on refunds. 2h is not enough to know game big as NMS.
Thirdly you don't go to store buy ♥♥♥♥ loads of clothes and then try them in your house YOU try them before you buy them = logic.
"you're a ♥♥♥♥ing idiot and you just want to play the game for free for awhile."
Come again?
First of all you fail to comprehend logic.
Secondly, logicaly it's imperative to promote your product in any possible way to make customer buy that product... that's what for demo ver., beta's, f2p weekens, early access are. Only one who doesn't want to promote their game via fp2 wekeend or demo is the one who KNOWS that his game is ♥♥♥♥ so do you imply that NMS is ♥♥♥♥? Becaue if not then i don;t see any sense behind your rant @ f2p weekend for this game.
_____
You do realize that there is difference in countrie and their money values and salary??? OR you are just dumb and ingornat to the point where you see only your own "reality and truth" ???
So we get that a f2p weekend would be awesome for the consumers, but what exactly is the incentive for the people putting out the game? They have more positive buzz than they had ever hoped for, so what else is in it for them?
PS. FYII that picking apart is called "anwering to other person arguments" ;)
They could gain more positive image and show people that they care about players. They sell their game above steam avarage and wayyy above avarage prices in Europe so i would expect them to extend their hand to players and show them that they aren't just grabbing their moneyz with marketing videos shown us by IGN ;)
