Frozen planets
Have you guys found any Pluto like planets? I mean, real frozen planets.
The ones I've found so far is icy, but have trees, plants, and so on. Is there any planet that is real an "icy desert"?

Something like these:

Haven't seen any, only -200ºC planets with liquid oceans, flora and fauna, and mountains were made of dirt, not water ice like pluto. The more planets I see the more awesome some of Mass Effect 1 "planets" look in comparisson.

As long as there are stupid players in the world who need every planet with base resources, we wont have ice planets bare base resources.

Yeah, I am enjoyng the game so far, but these things kinda suck.

Been to a lot of planets that are -200ºC, with trees and lakes and flora too...
Since Pluto's temp can reach -223ºC, I thouhgt those planets would be just like it.

Unfortunately, yeah.
And no gas planets also...

I've been looking for one of those types of planets for a while too, for the sole reason of naming it Hoth.

I don't think they exist, so I settled for a frozen planet with forrest, as was already described. Sucks that they don't seem to be present though.

Makes zero sense that -200 c planets are able to support life...zero sense. Hoping a patch or mod corrects that procedural discrepancy.

I think the closest thing with ice that you can name is Alderaan lol

I remember coming across a planet that was classed as 'glacial' but I dont remember too much about it. Just that it had storms every 2 minutes and absolutely shredded through my suit protection.

Except NO ONE asked devs to do that.
We asked for gas planets, water planets, sand planets.. Got none of those!
Ive yet to see sand planet, seen decent water planet which was okay, but still very similar flora to normal worlds.

Yeah that's true lol the environment is about 90% the same. From the trees to even some of the animals.

It does seem like some thought was given into plant life generation as the trees are pine type trees that are common in the tundra. They only seem to be present on frozen planets

Agreed. I've found a "wet planet"....but yet to find a true water planet wit 99% of the planet being covered in water. Those probably don't exist on account of not being able to land on water.

Is there a correlation between the temperature on a planet and why kind of flora/fauna you will find?

Yeah, I think at least for now (maybe ever?), we won't see water planets and gas planets or anything that you can't land on or has only a small percentage of land, or planets like Pluto that is an icy desert with only a few resources.

I've seen planets like Mars, almost without any flora and no fauna at all, it was nice. But sand planets, as were showed in some footages with Sean actually playing on it, I don't think exist now. And it sucks! I would like to see binary systems as well, but I don't believe we can find one also.

What they could do is take the Spore route and include gad giants, but they will be unable to be landed on. Maybe scanned for resources, but that just seems like a bit of a cop out.

Makes no sense really since most of the planets in our real life galaxy are just balls of gas.

I remember one of my water planets had only small islands and maybe one or 2 bigger land masses..was a mess to wander about/swim. So yea, need some luck with under ground zero land generation i guess.

Just because a planet is -200 degrees doesn't prohibit the existence of life. Extraterrestrial life could be organized around molecules other than H2O that doesn't freeze below 0.
