Where can you find your save file?
I cant seem to find where my save game file is at in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\No Man's Sky

I looked through the 3 different folders commonredlists binaris and gamedata.

But no mention of a save file anywhere. I just want to delelte my save game so I can start from scratch again. Aka new game.

I'm on my cellphone right now so I can't find for you, sorry.

But go on c:/users/<your user name>/

In there, there should be a hidden folder called appdata or something as such.

Inside there will be "local" "local low" and "roaming"

One of these three will have "hello games" and your files will be there

I had to use the Run search %appdata% (make sure you land in the Roaming folder).

I just save the whole HelloGames folder to USB, if that's your goal.

Delete all of them started up the game. I am still on my current game. So those where not them.

I think the game uses steam cloud. When you started the game steam probably restored the files.

Go check if they are back.

Yeah they where. I deleted everyrthing even the hellogames folder then delelted it off steam going to reinstall and see if that delelted my save game.

Reinstall doesn't works. Steam cloud persists through several installations.

Try this:
Launch the game. With the game running delete the files, then close the game.

Steam will think the game deleted the files and will remove them from the cloud.

Use my saves manager and it'll make a backup of your saves to C:\NMSsavesbackup

Download it and unzip it to your desktop then run it from there.

I'd rather lose an hours gameplay than spend 2 hours trying to find a ship summon post on a hostile planet if I land too close to a cave entrance and can't take off without flying into the cave :p
