Portal Found Interstellar Travel
Myself and friend currently working on getting the golden sphere from the ruins to the monolith thats seen in the trailers with the portal.
http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/259341780477435872/A015F29D80C967533581FBECF459A33CF52353CF/
The sphere cant be used in the location its found only in certain monoliths so were currently moving it across the planet. Hopefully this wroks to travel to other planets as ive heard mention or maybe its a multiplayer portal as only 2 people can do this quest which we are doing now.
Should look like this when completed https://i.redd.it/8qo5rdq3tefx.jpg
Then we have to work out have to activate it think it takes 2 people so i will let u know.

I believe that these were once functional objects, but as crafting was pared down, they realized that if players walked through a portal to another world, they'd be leaving their ship behind. You'd effectively strand yourself across the galaxy with no way to get to space.

There are Crashed Ship Sites all over, every planet, you're never stranded.

I know some people have said they've had issues, but you are absolutely never stranded, anywhere. It's possible to get off a planet regardless of what's happened. (Outside of a bug that traps you in a steel - room. That one is scary AF).

The question really is "Would I walk through that portal, knowing I'm leaving my ship behind?"

Answer "Is this new Universe/Dimension/Galaxy vastly different and more of a challenge? Yes? Then Absolutely".

Also.... your Ship is saved in your nmsdata/pcbanks - You can summon it anywhere, most likely.
Its a stargate like the movie so its ok

You could just summon it when you get to a trading post on the other side, since your ship teleports into existence off screen anyway.

The white dot appears on any structure when you scan it with your binoculars. It also shows on the direction thing at the top.

Edit: There is no multiplayer for PS4 or PC. It's proven, google it.
Really ? have u reached the centre yet ? Its proven lol, ive seen no evidence of it how come all these people playing and theres only been one instance of people saying they couldnt see each other, and yet they added the scan in intergalactic map to see other people on the map

Dude the galaxies are endless. After going to 5 of them the rest are generated. There is no player model. The character is just a floating camera with a hitbox. There is no netcode whats so ever. The E3 event was scripted and everything. People can open some of the .mbin files which are the core of the game in general. There is no multiplayer or any multiplayer data being sent to the HG servers. Just discoveries are sent between one and another.

Spoils:

There are some people (Using CE / Unlimited Warp Distance / xSpeed) who are jumping through Galaxies like mad. I've seen some people are 60-70 Galaxies in and it just keeps going.

Do you not know what sound & soundscapes are? Thats to add to the emersion. If you have any clue on how game development works you would get how sounds work.

Sound<Get Player Location<Play Sound

But to get on track here they can either be activated in the future with updates or there is some secret way.

Someone from the modding community found this in the files:

Well, I'm inspired to get much more involved with the monoliths and word-learning when I get back to it later.

Well, this topic is just depressing.

Someone tries to experiment and inject some secret-hunting into the game. (It doesn't matter whether said secrets are really present or not. This is something people have done forever. Testing to see if the Running Man in Ocarina can be beaten, or trying to translate the Hylian language and other languages in other Zelda games. (Turns out they really are letter characters and can be translated.) Trying to piece together the lore of Elder Scrolls games and figuring out who or what the Daedra are, what happened to the Dwemer, etc.

Yes, this game is profoundly lacking in content in comparison to those games, but... this sort of thing is just something people do. Even if there's nothing to it, it's fun! You know... fun? The reason we play video games in the first place? Not to insult each other on message boards and belittle one another for simple differences in taste and opinion? Remember? Remember why we started playing video games? Before we cared about what platform someone played on, how someone played, how many sales something had, how large its player base was, or whether anyone else agreed with us?

Or are we all just so jaded and cynical now that we simply cannot allow someone to experiment and discover for themselves what the reality is? We have to prove them wrong. We have to obey this compulsion we seemingly have to dominate and subjugate their mind and ways to conform to what we ourselves already know (or believe) to be true. And if they refuse to do that, then we have to write them off as stupid, gullible, or wasting their time, right? Man. What has happened to gaming communities? Seriously. I know this game is far from perfect, its devs have earned a lot of well deserved ire, and many people simply legitimately hate the game and that's fine. That's their prerogative. But can we just TRY to let people do their thing?

So of course TC gets fed up, can't hold their tongue (I'm not condoning what they said or how they handled it, for the record,) and gets banned. I for one was looking forward to seeing what they found. I didn't expect much. I certainly didn't expect multiplayer. It's been fairly conclusively proven it doesn't exist. But I wanted to see their journey and if they ever at least found their friend's discovered systems, since that's only happened a handful of times so far that I'm aware of (two people who knew each other intentionally finding one another's systems.) I wanted to see what they ended up trying. I didn't expect or believe anything would actually happen... but I love things like this. I love when people try to inject more than the sum of a game's parts into it.

Now we'll never know, though. *Sigh* End ramble. I'm not angry, I'm just honestly saddened. Gaming didn't used to be like this. Even when a game crashed and burned, people were allowed their niche love and passion for a game. Now it's, "BURN THE WITCH! THEY LIKE THIS HORRIBLE THING!" I don't get it.

Despite being banned OP if you read this... I hope you keep doing what you planned to and HAVE FUN. Peace.

dud no one asked to read a book here we are simple minded people lol

If you want to see if two people could activate it you could give him your game save and you both would be in the same location but he would get everything you have. Probably a temp thing to test but whatev.

Why would that matter, when you log on you are not logging on to any server at all. So there will be no way for the game to know that 2 people are there at the same time. You don't even have to be online to play this game. The only "online" feature currently in game is when you upload a discovery you are just uploading to the server database is all, and I am assuming when you open game you are downloading the uploaded information.

So basically I can't see how 2 people there at the same time would make any difference at all. But by all means give it a try worth testing at least.

Yeah I know that but he could test that way to get it through his thick skull. I already know thats the only online feature. I mean being able to pause the game should tell you that through common sense.

Dude, the mp labeled was coverex on the retail box and Sean tweeted the day of launch there is no multiplayer.
Almost every feature in the game was cut in order to make the August release. Sony pronably forced the release and we got a gutted game.
You death grip on hope is astonishing

I can assure you there is no multiplayer and portals are non-functional game assets. This game has been cracked wide open by the hacking/modding community. If either of those were currently in the game, trust me it would have already been outed by the hacker community. That's not saying they will never be, it's very possible that they could be finished/added in the future, but it's not there. By all means keep trying though if it makes you happy.
