Sure, with contracts with publishers, not with contracts with distributitors where distributors have no power over the development of the game and information releases.
And if you really want to believe what you are saying, it is still Hello Games fault for signing a contract that forces them to lie for a distributor who isn't even paying for the funding of the development of the game.

Sony expects the game to make hundreds of millions, they'll get a cut from thier PSN store, and potentially sell more PS4s.
The game was originally pushed as primarilly a PC game, it wasn't until Sony got involved that they started pushing it heavily as a PS4 game.
Sony also footed the bill on marketting.
Sounds like the game needed more time in development.
