Black holes not working?

Everytime I enter a black hole, I only travel around 2k lightyears. Thats pretty far but the center is 165k away. It'll take me 80+ Black Holes to get to the center. Is there a faster way?

Nope, the distance is correct.

That is the way the black holes are supposed to work. Welcome to grinding black holes if you want to get to the center quickly.

Ive heard people claim they were over 1.1m light years away from the center. My last save was 176k.

Something like that. Ive heard people say that it took others 100+ black holes to reach the center in their playthrough.

Just make sure you go in the right hole. Entering the wrong hole is always a recipe for disaster.

Your map says 176k to the center, its full of ♥♥♥♥. I just ground out my 180k... 1500 ly a jump netted me about 300 to 400 off that total jumped directly at the center. I traveled about 700k (estimate) ly in what the map said 180k

I recommend farming Dynamic Resonators, buing a ship that has decent warp reactor upgrades (2-3, hopefully connected, should cost around 4-10 mill really). From there, warp towards the center, you shouldbe able to go about 900-1600 Light Years per jump. You will eventually run into anomalies. Use the black holes and repeat the process. It seems a bit boring and stupid, but now that I am much closer to the center, I am enjoying the game again! Hope that helps.

I have a ship with two reactor upgrades but I'm actually able to see black holes on my starmap and jump directly to them. Also, do you mean building and selling the Resonators?

2. I free jumped the rest of the way. By the time I realized that I wasnt getting closer at the rate I should have been according to the 'distance to center' figure I was so far away from my atlas and other black hole way point there was no going back. stopped on planets for mats for fuel filled inventory jumped as much as possible, rinse repeat.

according to my time played 42 hours, but I got lucky and got the bps for the 3 warp drive upgrades early. so nearly all of that was 1500 ly a jump. Probably 500 total jumps-ish.
