Scrapping crashed ship parts
Ive seen a few people say they were scrapping crashed ship upgrades to get some of the rarer materials, I was curious about this because i run into them(crashed ships) alot and they usually arent worth fixing for the 1-2 extra slots id get because of the repair costs. it would be nice to salvage those parts, when i access the ship the only options im given are to compare/accept the ship or to decline it. how in the heck do they do it?

You accept the ship, then scrap the parts which are scrappable, then switch back to your old ship and transfer the resources. The important part is, that you need to accept and switch to the crashed ship first in order to be able to scrap things from it.

Btw. don't worry, your old ship will still be there with all its inventory. It doesnt despawn or anything.

That's good to know, I've found two and both were ugly and had fewer slots so I didn't mess with them.

Just remember where you parked your ship. ;)

The only part I really use in on so far is the warp reactor theta. The only time I can never find gold it seems is when a black hole jump takes that thing out, which is often. And it takes a lot of slots to build resonators. So when I'm just chaining black holes trying to make a little progress to center, sometimes I'll dip down, find a ship and scrap something for the resonators and/or gold. Otherwise I just farm the resources on the fly. When upgrading ships I use the ♥♥♥♥ out of it. Because there is almost always one thing I'm missing that I can't get on the planet its on. And I've lost more than one ship I wanted to upgrade to by thinking I could skip up and grab Th9 or something and come right back down and find it again.

Bad luck I guess, I find literal mountains of gold pretty often. I also started out on a lush bountiful world. I watched gameplay from neebs gaming and that guy started out on one that forced him to hide out in his ship every few minutes.

Oh I find gold all the time.. just not when I've got a blown theta reactor and need 500 of it.
