This game could've been amazing if they had actually tried to implemenet multiplayer, base building, solid FPS mechanics, worth-while discoveries, genuinely deep AI interactions, an interesting story (not just reach center of galaxy and restart or get 10 Atlas stones and make a useless star), realistic flight mechanics (get rid of auto altitude!!), inventory management that wasnt a chore, and interesting side quests.
