What technology rank is better, Tau or Sigma?
I have the option to upgrade my pulse drive to a Tau or Sigma rank but I'm not sure which one is better. The description is the same for both.

I think there ment to be about equal, but you can double up with the two variations.

sigma > tau > theta,
sigma is the first u get, tau the second, theta the best as far as i got, dont know if there is some better stuff then theta lategame

Sigma -> Tau - > Theta

I noticed this ebcause the sigma tool upgrades were "+1", the Tau upgrades were "+2", and theta "+3".

I don't think it is as straight forward as that, as I have had more than +1 on sigma, and only +1 on some Tau going up to +3
providing the modules have different names you seem to be able to apply benefits for as many as you can equip to the inventory of either exosuit, multi tool or ship

It is as simple as that. Theta will take you places Sigma cant. Theta will boost your cooling more than Sigma.

I get tau before sigma... ?.?

I think it's the same. The descriptions are the exact same as are the icons used for them. The only difference is the materials used to create them. After that it's the number in the bottom left(Or was it the right?) which signifies the level of the upgrade. I think other types do make a difference, however... I'm pretty sure there's a third one not related to those posted previously which had a different discription for me, mentioning how X would deliver much more power as opposed to simply increasing power like the descriptions in Tau and Sigma.

I think it is, sometimes things with similar symbols have differnt effects. They really phoned in the icon work on this game.

ordinarily it goes sigma < tau < theta < omega, with each one having a higher + modifier than the other, like some other responses pointed out. sometimes its not like this, though; i have a +3 upgrade for something that isnt theta

the important thing about sigma vs tau vs theta vs omega is that theyre separate upgrades, so you can apply them all at the same time for more modifiers

Sigma = v1 (+1)
Tau = v2 (+2)
Theta = v3 (+3)
Omega = v4 (+4)
etc, if it goes past that

yeah, it can vary sometimes. the names dont indicate any sort of inherent ability, theyre just separate upgrades that can be used simultaneously
