Noctis V :D

Has anyone else here been waiting 10 years for Noctis V to get released? I was starting to think I'd never get a good space game again.

Anyone that thinks this game is boring or ugly should check out Noctis IV, Ad Astra, and planetary landings on Elite Dangerous..

NMS is way more than Noctis V would have been. I've got nothing to complain about with this game besides the SSE4.1 thing was a bit ch and the stuttering, hopefully they get that fixed.

So how does NMS compare to Noctis IV? Is it the the Noctis V that I always wanted?

Honestly, It's not Noctis V. It misses the mark by a thin margin. They should have put another 6 months to a year into the game and it could have been the ultimate thing. It's not as bad as the hipsters say it is, it's not even bad. I have 36+ hours in it, that's more than I give most games. Noctis didn't really give you any purpose though, it was more like "Here's what you got, go!"

The sentinels that attack you in NMS are just an annoyance.

There is a game on Steam called Star Explorers that I'm liking a lot at the moment. It's more Noctisey than this one. And it's made by one guy that listens to people.

Thanks. It looks intriguing. I may buy it, despite it being Early Access... (The update due in a weeks time sounds promising.)

Yeah I get really tired of people bashing Sean Murray, he's on to something great and they've now made it so he'll probably never reach full potential because they NEED to hate so bad on the GD internet.

I tell you, my respect for Sean Murray has grown and grown. The vast majority of people would have folded and collapsed under the weight of nonsense that's been thrown at him. And he could have just walked away with more money than you or I will ever see.

But he didn't. He and his team have kept on building their vision, and providing it to the people who want it. And there's more to come.

I'd tried understanding the "Waking Titan" stuff before, and all I can see is a load of ARG nonsense (i.e. no specific details about NMS, just a load of vague clues about more vague clues). I have no interest in ARGs.

Waking Titan is gradually revealing the back story to No Man's Sky. It explains how you, the "Traveller" came to be where you are, and why.

And no, they haven't released specific details yet. But we can be pretty certain something big is on the way.

(This dude's doing quite a good job of selling NMS to me! I didn't even realise that NMS had weather - again something that was great about Noctis IV.)
