switch to ps4 from PC.
*Update

So one of my computers only has intel graphics and I don't think that is supported at this time. Don't know if the upcoming patch will fix that as I've gotten a message that says those gfx aren't supported.

My other computer now has plenty of ram, same nvidia card whcih should work, but it's still slow as all get out after using the suggestions folks gave me. Think I'm going to just have to wait until the patch.

So if I buy a ps4 and get nms for that system, would I be able to keep my ship and such, what little progress I have made? I have the horizon omega ship from steam. Don't want to lose it. Or if I switch systems will that be an entirely different account?

The PS4 version and PC version are completely different, you wouldn't get all of the stuff you have from your Steam account. Why would you buy a PS4 and another copy of NMS?

Having lag issues with my PC. I *THINK it's just a lack of RAM, but I don't know. Runs REAAAAALLLLY SLOW, but is rendering everything. Thought I had 8gigs, only have 4. Gonna upgrade to 16 or 32gigs. I don't want a ps4, but what I've played of this game, as slow as it is, has been awesome. Just want path of least resistance.

It will lag/stutter with only 4GB, you also don't need more than 16GB of RAM for games, not even more than 8 I would say.

Download the experimental patch and see if it helps.

I don't konw your particular situation, but it seems to me that putting 500 into your computer would probably be a better investment than buying a new game system. However, since I don't know your comp specs I can't really say.

Would be significantly cheaper to buy more ram.

Yes, just decompile your save file, modify it to match the PS4's save file structure and then hack it into the PS4. Good luck.

There seems to be a problem with the capped framerate for a lot of people. If I put mine to 60 in game options. It ran awful. Like really really terrible. If I lowered to 30 it managed about 22-26fps and just stayed there never going higher. But someone told me to put triple buffering on in nvidia control panel and then cap the framerate in game options to 90. Did that and it now never leaves 60. but more importantly, none of that stuttering crap like before. Maybe this will help someone that doesn't know. As it drove me insane for the first few hours.

MMOs do it often. A lot of the free to play MMOs especially share accounts with PC and PS4. Android games sometimes do this with PC as well.

And while not done with PC, Nintendo 3DS and Wii-U games can share save game data between the different copies if you own the same game on both systems.

Thanks for the tip! I adjusted the buffering and such as you said and it did help speed things up some. I think the RAM issue is the other thing that will help. My gfx card is a little over a year old, so I can't imagine that would be the issue, but I may get a new one. Gonna try the memory in the meantime.

actually, in the past it was easier to convert save files between consoles/pc, it wasn't of course an official way but possible in some cases, mostly old retro consoles with no encryption.
