How many words per language in this game?

I've worked pretty hard to learn the language of my starting system's native race, the Gek. It's been my primary focus so far. I'm up to ~60 words now, but I still have many conversations where I only understand one or two. Has anyone discovered how many words are generated for each language? There seem to be a limited number of sentences that they use, so I would ASSUME the language is relatively limited as well.

well as always gamepedia is your friend , i found very great stuff theer i didnt know.
especialy teh language part of no mans sky didnt know theer were about 600+ words to learn for each race lol

also it helped me with some puzzles when i needed to know what they said to make the right choice. i now always have this page open on my tablet when playying no mans sky :P

Keep in mind that having the meter get to the last dot on the "Milestones" page does NOT mean you've maxed out the language. You keep on learning words after you've got the maximum rank. When it tells you you've "Learned Nothing New". Then you've maxed it out. For Gek, it happened to me at 708, exactly.

Oops. I do try to read the entire post before I add anything, but I missed darkflemish's definitive contribution:

Gek: 708
Korvax: 678
Vy'keen: 761
Atlas: about 220

This also helps confirms that the limit is the same for everybody.

Thanks, darkflemish, and sorry missing your contribution. I'll bet there's a (derogatory) name for people who read the subject and then jump to the end to post. I only know "troll", "newbie" and "SJW".

This was in my top 3 goals, obtain all available words in the 3 species languages. I focused on Gek, Vy'Keen, and then Korvax in that order. I managed to get some good ships and hit 10 in all milestones. Now I'm starting Atlas and building freighter base while I continue to explore. This game is great.

It should be on your milestones tab. There is a main one- which counts all words (except Atlas I think). If you click on each species you can see how many words you learned for that specific one.

Be aware that you will reach "gold" achievement at 650 but you continue to learn words until the true max is learned.

I think it's always been there, but you only get the words from Monoliths. The wiki implies it might have been added in Visions and that there are 250 words.

There are way more than 250 words i have around 475 words with Vykeen and 350ish with Gek and 250 with Korvax.. i do get full conversations with them now but sometimes then and there there is still words that are not translated.

250 Atlas words. I have the 3 core races maxed, where I can learn no more, and still have translators installed, but I still get words I don't know.

***Apologies if seems necro'ing but I just got this game and I know 103 words and it still drives me crazy not knowing what they are saying fully. I found this on fandom. Completely crazy if you ask me haha. Gotta be a way to learn them faster than 1 at a time. Going to take decades to learn just 1 language and there's 5 races. Yeesh.***

"As of Worlds Part I 5.03, there are currently 3,814 unique word groups in the game files.

The game files specify that there are a total of 4,794 words: 1,149 Gek, 1,092 Korvax, 1,156 Vy'keen, 1,135 Autophage, 261 Atlas and 1 "None", but you cannot learn each word in each faction's language.

After learning all possible words, you can see a total of 3,813 word groups in your save: 918 Gek, 856 Korvax, 928 Vy'keen, 889 Autophage, and 222 Atlas words.

This correlation (and the discrepancy between word groups and speechtable entries) can simply be explained by the fact that one word group contains multiple words. For example, if you learn the Korvax word for "is", you get the words for "is", "are", "was", and "were". These individual words are listed as distinct entries in the game files, but share the same word group, by which they are unlocked in the save file.

The word in the "None" faction's language is "mining" and should belong to the autophage language. This seems to be a bug."
