How to Skip the opening in space.

How do you skip through that bit at the start when opening the game where it flies through space for 10 minutes?

Not sure you can. That's actually the loading screen right there.
Does it really take you 10 minutes to get in to the game?

lower resolution + fullscreen seems work for me + if you save on space station u will load faster

I believe this is the game loading the assets. It doen't take that long to me.

Takes about 3 seconds for me, its purely based on your rig like every other game that needs to load, 10mins seems extreme, I'd like to see a video of that, I'm not saying your lying but people do tend to exagerate time.

There are many things you can do, but you should really goto the tech forums for information on how to optimize your rig, nearly 30 hours logged so it hasn't put you off so far, there was issues for me that nearly made me quit but checking the right forums for your particualar problem may make you facepalm yourself, sometimes its just so simple you will wonder why you didn't think of it.

Takes just over 3 minutes for the stars to stop and the game to load for me. I'm stuck in turtle mode once it loads so I figured that was the reason for the intro taking so long.

It takes 15-20 seconds on my SSD. Glad I did not put it on HDD.

I would say get a faster PC... cus its a loading screen. Takes 5 secs on mine.

well yes it can take 10 minuts as for me it takes even longer about 20 minutes (4GB ram laptop)

Well, get an ssd I guess upgrade your cpu and video card.
