Hyperdrive Blueprints

Which part is the actual part you learn the blueprints for the hyperdrive. I've put the drive in my starter ship and added the fuel cells to fuel it, and was at the point where you are told to use the hyperdriver and press M in space to bring up the galaxy map

Now, this part...I was on the surface of a planet farming some gold and came across a complex with some friendly guys in, i decifiered a code and got pointed to a crashed ship, the ship was okay and i was able to acutally replace my starter ship with it lol, yay!
It has a hyperdriver, although broke, so i can't check the inventory of that ship to see if i have the hyperdriver blueprints as i assume it only appears when the ship you click the inventory on doesn't have a hyperdriver already installed?

So my question is, would i have the hyperdriver blueprint from installing one on the starter ship or do you have to go through the entire tutorial stuff, including actually using the hyperdriver and whatever else, or do you get it before hand cause i don't wanna play on with this new ship and reliease later that i indeed don't have the hyperdrive blueprints.

once you get the blueprint you have it, installed or not. i got the blueprint and same as you before i installed it i found another ship with a hyperdrive and a thetadrive on it. still have te blueprint.

There's no other ship with hyperdrives until you complete it, trust me i've took the time to look through more than 50 ships in the space station.

The Hyperdrive Warp Reactor blueprints :

Warp Reactor Sigma --> Extreme Survival Milestone 3
Warp Reactor Tau --> Words collected Milestone 7
Warp Reacotr Theta --> Planet Zoology Milestone 10


The Hyperdrive itself hasn't a blueprint, you have and did the basic tutorial.
So far now on all ships you will see, will have the Hyperdrive pre-installed.
Now you need the Hyperdrive upgrades to get to other type of stars ;-)

Yup, i don't get this part, it just never happens. I get the little cutscene after flying out in space, i then get the space station where i bought the dynamic resonator. After that no signal no matter where i go.

"While flying in space for the first time, you’ll get a distress signal from another planet. Travel to that planet and find the Waypoint Beacon, "

And as long i can't complete this part no other ship spawns with a hyperdrive.

1) Restart NMS and read careful the first messages until you have the Hyperdrive
2) Save editor and give yourself the Hyperdrive blueprint ;-)

2) Save editor and give yourself the Hyperdrive blueprint ;-)

It's the game, it already said i had visited the distress beacon for some reason but i had no blueprint to install, somehow it got messed up.

I was on the step where it ask me to install the blueprint, i think step 5 in the log.

At that point i should have the blueprint. I will try and restart the game again and do a verify.

I have 300 hours in NMS and still dont have the regular hyperdrive.

No i have a very old save from before you got it from doing the missions.

No, as i said i've played before and did the tutorial, it just messed up somehow last time.


I'm at the big ship wreck where you get the blueprint so everything is fine now.

The image above shows where to install reactor upgrade BPs for the hyperdrive. Darkflemish mentioned these above. And as stated, the hyperdrive doesn't have a BP, since it is considered a core component. Look in your slots (general and tech if you have them) for a hyperdrive component. On in you will find them on every ship. From then on you can collect warp reactor BPs.

If you can visit another system then you already have the hyperdrive.
