Fix for Unable to initialize OpenGL window
This is a problem I encountered just 3 seconds after launching, but already found a pretty simple way of fixing it. So this is how I fixed it in case anyone else runs into this issue
Right click NMS in steam, and go to properties
Go to local files and click browse local files
Go into binaries, then settings and open TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.mxml.
Change fullscreen to false and lower your resolution.

What do you mean by "Unable to initialize OpenGL window"? Do you have such error message or what?

Hummm, it almost works, splash screen opens, then it crashes. Has this fixed it for anyone else?

That's the error message I got when trying to launch the game. Game didn't actually launch, it just displayed that error message.

Turning off second monitor helps.

My dad's computer had the same problem. It is caused by OpenGL not supporting/recognizing the native screen resolution of his monitor (which was actually a repurposed TV 1360x???). I had him switch to use his old monitor (1280x768 I think) and the problem went away. I'm running it at 1920x1080 and it works fine.

Fixed this on my PC by modifying Geforce Experience config for the game to "Windowed Borderless", and it works with my resolution at 1920x1080.

The aforementioned TKGRAPHICSETTINGS.NXML came out with the following lines after, so it might work to just edit it in the file:

after
<Property name="FullScreen" value="false" />
<Property name="Borderless" value="true" />
^^^^^^ this line...
...and there's a tab break between them...

Again, I just left the file with my native resolution of 1920x1080, and the game is working fine now...

Took a while to Load Shaders or something such on the first reload, but eventually it finished.

Make sure your drivers are up to date before doing this or any other fix... gl..
