People who have worked hard their whole lives. Try it some time.
The Idea of exploring a whole universe is just perfect for me.
People who hate on that game are just jealos, that people can be so excited about a game and they just ... cant ... because they are consuming the same games over and over with slightly better graphic every year. Let them burst out in negativity on these forums, maybe it helps them, like a relief, else they would become depressed.
Happy to help guys, keep the negativity flowing into the forums, we understand you and wish you all the best.
The main reason for the bad reviews is that people compare it to other stuff they'd played and what the hoped it would be.
For your first video game it's got lots to do, is nice an colorful, and you overlook the flaws since you don't know what most people expect these day.
If he's a big Star Wars fan you might want to watch for Battlefront to go on sale. It's been out for long enough for the base game to be cheap and if you can get it on sale, just the tutorial levels give you decent value and are easy to learn.
I don't really like multiplayer but have spent quite a bit of time on the speederbike chase and hoth missions. Check out youtube videos on the tranining missions if you want to see if it would appeal to him.
Ratchet and Clank also has pretty simple gameplay and is cheap.
If you also signed him up for PS plus Rebel Galaxy is free this month and the first episode of Life is Strange is free now.
Once you're looking for something less Sci-fi oriented, Diablo might be worth looking at. It's got simple gameplay, lots of loot to collect, and can be played coop on 1 machine if you've got an extra controller. I've seen it on sale quite a few times.
This lets him try a variety of games without spending a lot of cash before he knows what appeals to him.
Uncharted 4 or The Last of Us would both be good story based action games once he gets used to gaming.
If he's a real big space enthusiast, you might also want to look into Kerbal Space Program. Watch lots of videos before making a decision on that one though since the learning curve can be pretty brutal. It's much slower and more technical than NMS, but sucess is more rewarding too. Try to find PS4 specific videos to get an idea of the interface quirks on that platform.
