NMS is just a Fisher-Price version of Elite.

the answer is currently very simple... one of the game you can play (on pc)... the other not.... (yet)

both universes would like multiple lifetimes to explore but both games also have a repetition to them because expansive universes without extreem detail is not as intresting as people think but that doesnt mean they are not good games, just means its not the second coming of jesus

No contest. Elite is the KING.

I've got both.

From what I have seen ED is miles ahead of no man's sky. However I really like the exploration part of no man's sky and near limitless universe, that's why I bought it. But once ED has atmospheric planets with flora, fauna and cities to land on, we won't be needing any no mans sky anymore :)

Totally different game.
I played over 1k hours of elite, only 500 of which on steam. Elite has kind of become a boring ass grind but is worth it if your really into starship porn.

No Man's Sky is actually something I think the explorer players from Elite would enjoy quite alot since its everything that they wanted with the Horizons release with a few little extras thrown in. Least imho.

Elite was great for a time for me but just got more and more dissappointing with every patch adding yet more stupid grinds with the same 6 station models and 20 or so ships. Basic bugs from the day-1 pre alpha release have yet to be fixed.

Uttery pointless, you cannot compare them:

ED is more sim based and has a learning curve.. ie you need to learn how to play it, re:- game manual etc

NMS is arcade based with very simple flight mechanics ie:- 'pick up and play'.

Both are great but you cannot compare them.

I think the plans for EVA is coming first.
well first (and soon to be annouced) is multicrew ship support, then next year is likely EVA (Extravehicular Activity) meaning leaving the ship

I agree completely with your first point and completely NOT with your second point.

They are close enough to be comparable. Games do not have to be identical down to the same name in order to be compared

Remember the giant HUD bug on the Type 9 freighter? The one that stayed in the game for months because some asshat at Frontier couldn't be bothered to reset the HUD size?

Or maybe you didn't have time to notice, what with the grind and all. 540 hours of gameplay to get an Anaconda. That's what it took. Never again. :-p

That is very true.

If Elite Dangerous is great, so too was Superman 64. There's a reason Braben had to go to Kickstarter while Murray attracted Sony's attention and support.

The reason? ED sucks ass and is unlikely to improve much further than its current state. If it actually manages to release all 10 seasons, I'll be shocked.

Got one of each of the big three actually. A rank fitted imperial cutter too. Nothing to do with any of them sadly.
