I'm perfectly fine with the game not having multiplayer, i play single-player games and i enjoy them.

What i have a problem with, is this disinformation, misleading propaganda, false advertisement, lack of clarity of their part.

Me too, I'm going to love this game, but I'm not biased. For me it's going to be fun, but the devs lying? That's just unacceptable.

Sorry but i did not see anything telling it was going to be multiplayer.
He's constantly talking about a sense of not playing alone.
The video even has the quotes telling that it won't be a multiplayer so why keep yelling about multiplayer.
What else can a developer do but straightforward tell you it's not multiplayer and not go in looking for a multiplayer experience. Did you actually miss that part?
It's simply just like Elite Dangerous in private mode.
All you share is the universe nothing else, this has been clear from the very start.

Well, he only tweeted that 1 day before PS4 release, which is misleading. Did you not see the date "August 8, 2016" on that part too? Changing something big in the game in the last minute, and still you people defend the devs? Your loyalty is too high.

Good god people, first of all, dont ask questions if you are just going to stick your fingers in your ears and shout out answers you dont like. Dont ask for evidence if you arent willing to consider it and above all, learn to ptu 2 and 2 together. He said yes you can grief, which means you can interact and affect otehr players and their instance of the game. He said the only way to find out what your player looked like was by finding another player, which also says all players are the same race, whatever that may be.

Finally, there was a multiplayer tag on the steam store page. You want to handwave that as not being under dev control? BS, but whatever. Whats your explanation over the limited edition boxes being printed with "online play" then stickered over? Whether it was completed or not, multiplayer WAS PROMISED, and WAS in the game at some point. And it made a lot of sales. Then they did their best to retcon it and yank the wool over our eyes. And got caught in the act.

Now, whether this is down to network or server issues, that I cant say. Only Murray himself or someone else at hello games can say, and they arent. THAT, on top of the coverup, is the most damning piece of evidence out there. When directly asked about it, he handwaves it off and says it blows his mind the players were able to attempt to get together, and oh look! Shiny feature over this way! It is deceptive, evasive, misleading and no way to respond to the people who funded your project! So yes, people are understandably a little cranky over the matter.

Now, the constant debating and accusations are doing nothing but generating press, and with the amount of money they have already made on the preorders, the marketing law that states "there is no such thing as bad press" kicks in. I believe this to be intentional. As for multiplayer, there is no way to set the matter to rest one way or another until we either get an official statement, or they get it working server side. And I'm not holding my breath for either one.

Oh, and BTW, guys, those two streamers, when they've uploaded their discoveries of that single planet last night, both of them gets the credit. The first guy reads that it was discovered by him while the second guy reads that it was discovered by the second guy. This is what you call online-play? BS.

I always suspected this was another Massively Singleplayer Online Game (MSOG) similar to the way Spore worked, but maybe I was wrong since it's described as a new type of multiplayer? I'm not sure.
