Not comparable to minecraft except on a very superficial level.
Based on some of the criticisms I read, I think one of the best things the devs could do for the longevity of this game is allow some custom gameplay options, such as settings that disable waypoints, decrease the occurrence of minerals, or increases the aggressivness of animals and pirates. Allow the player to fine-tune the experience for himself, even if we can only do it for our own offline galaxy.
In this it has been touted as an exploration game. Yet every stream, literally every one, people just follow the dots. How is that engaging or fun?
And now we are back in No Mans Sky. Just before we left off in the last episode we found out we needed to go explore for some iron. So lets get right into it, and go out and g...........oh it's right there on the waypoint............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................tumbleweed rolls by..............................................................................
Not to jump way off topic buy out of theses games which are the best.
I would recommend Terraria first and Starbound second, though mostly because I've actually played and enjoyed those. Terraria is the oldest, almost as old as Mincraft, and thus one of the more robust experiences out there. It has a clear progression both in terms of ore and equipment as well as progress through the game and it's bosses. It has been refered to by some as the 2D version of Minecraft.
Starbound I haven't played much in it's current incarnation (it got out of Early Access and into full release a couple of months ago) but I was enjoying it even back when it was still very early access a couple years ago. It's also similar to Terraria, plus multiple planets and a spaceship to expand as a mobile base.
Thanks for the response.
The visor for discovering stuff and the ore scanner are 2 different things, just delete the scanner and never use it.
Problem solved
