Every planet looks the same.
Seriously guys? This long in development and the planets still all look the same? Oh sure there are minor differences, changes in color etc, but there's no major difference between any of the planets I've seen in any of the leaked footage. They all have the same basic elements and it seems like you find trees and animals everywhere, even if the planets have such high or low temps that life should either not survive or should be radically different.

This is the problem with proceedural generation; it works fine if you have enough individual moving pieces to put together in different ways, but the problem is that people rarely create enough of those pieces. Bloodborne with the chalice dungeons had this problem too; you saw the pieces that made up the world repeat way too quickly and way too often. You feel the generation process and it makes the universe feel artifical and samey. Thats what NMS planets feel like; pallet swaps and minor modifications.

I guess I can understand this point-of-view, but to me the planets look just fine. I've also watched the steams but I've seen several very different looking planets. There are some similarities but not enough that it's like "i've been here before".

Maybe this just isn't your game.

Someone already played it through. It is exactly as advertised and the Leaker says it has plenty of veriety. Which is a subjective measure according to you're metric. So it will either meet your standards for veriety, or fail it. That will be entirely up to you.

Its not rocket science if you dont like what you see dont buy it if you have already bought it get a refund but some of us have bought it and will be playing it and will be enjoying what we see.

OP brings up a valid point of discussion and he did it respectfully and intelligently. You should reserve your terse replies for the trolls that come here to cause trouble. If you don't allow for intelligent criticism then you're really no better than a troll. The forum becomes toxic.

Wait... how do they look the same?
first you say they all look the same, then you say they all have different colors...

what were you expecting? doughnut shaped planets? pyrimids?
i don't understand at all...
i'm sorry but even in real life, solid planets looks the same for the most parts, just their color change... why would it be different in no man's sky uh ?

Same with you (see my last post).

Just let people critique if they want! Without feedback from fans and non-fans alike, how will developers ever know what to improve or what to do differently next time?

What a herd mentality this forum has.

I seriously do not understand how some ppl think that by telling us things they dont like about game, they expect all of us to not play it or something. no one gives a ♥♥♥♥ about yr negative attitude. I personally have preordered and am very much looking forward to it.

Where did he say he expects you not to play it?

Is he not allowed to critique?

well maybe they also think the earth, mars, and venus look too much alike as well.
if thats the case, then i think the game will be just fine.

i mean the only difference between earth, mars, and venus is basically every thing they stated... so thats why i'm confused...

People are in full defense mode because of the non-stop onslaught of "THIS GAME SUCKS", "NO MP BRO!? THIS GAME SUCKS!!", "NO BASEBUILDING!??! MAN.... THIS GAME SUCKS".

Even I'm really tired of it and I have a lot of patience.
