No Man's Sky
I have a feeling this game is going to be like spore.
All hype, very boring.

Is there any info on the gameplay, I dont see what the gameplay is anywhere besides just exploring.

Hey look another troll! WOOOOO!

Funny enough Spore did well lol.

Please, let's not pretend that Spore did not fall MASSIVELY short of expectations, regardless of how well it did monetarily.

And I say this as somebody who bought Spore years after the hype train wrecked, and still enjoyed the game for what it was.

It definitely wasn't what people wanted it to be, though. And that's why NMS gets compared to Spore so often, as they were both ground-breaking new ideas for their time.

It might have for some, but some people like to hop on the hate train (similar to this post) to feel apart of something or cool.

Spore was rated well, and its also rated well on Steam. Sure people expected more out of it (because EA forced changes) but its also an EA game, this is not. And even based on that alone an EA game will get more critical people becuase people hate EA.

Game is going to be out on the ps4 first, there should be plently of vids about before release on the 12th.
PS4 and PC release at the same time.

Yeah its the same until offical info is released from Sean not vague wording from their about page that would also suggest PS4 gets no worldwide release date.

Yeah the website is basically saying that all PC players worldwide will have the game by the 12th.

He's probably just someone, who calls people fanboys, because he has zero valid arguments in cases where he can't stand people being positive about (or looking forward to) something, he doesn't like.

Contains quite some info on different NMS-related things: https://repo.nmsdb.info/links

Some key elements (but that's not all there is in the game) are:

- exploration
- combat (space and ground)
- trading
- survival
- crafting (upgrades for your suit, ship and tool - some of which are super important for survival in hostile environments)
- factions (which you can be in good or bad standing - and they'll act accordingly)
- NPCs
- hacking
- mining
- sentinels, which will come after you, if you happen to mine too much or kill (too many) creatures...they work with a 5-star wanted level basically
- attacking and looting freighters for resources

and a lot more...

True !:steamhappy:
And yet you were willing to play that insufferable turd known as Empyrion - Galactic Survival for 189 hours.
I have a feeling you're going to be like spore, spreading everywhere with your sporelike assumptions.

lol, "hate train". I played literally hundreds of hours of Spore before I ever even bought it on Steam years later purely because I liked the game.

I even said that I enjoyed the game for what it was.

On the Steam forums, I guess this is what passes for "hate", though.

It doesn't really matter how well it was rated when it was, in fact, one of the biggest hype letdowns in video game history in the public view.

...which is exactly why threads called "I bet this will be another Spore" exist. They probably wouldn't if the game had lived up to even half the hype that was built prior to its release.

PS) You seem to be assuming that *I* have said anything at all about NMS being like Spore, when the truth is that I have actually said nothing of the sort. However, I'm not so naive as to not recognize the similarities in patterns between the two games prior to their release.
I believe that CJ might at least have a small point. I don't expect No Man's Sky to silence all other games at all. But it will be nice for casual exploration probably, albeit I'm left to wonder as to how much depth there will be...

Edit: What I mean is, survival and phasing in and out of a planet's atmosphere can only entertain me for so long.
