Easter Eggs?
Would it be great to stumble to our solar system and actually see our planet as pangea. or mars as a second earth?

I doubt there are easter eggs. The whole universe is procedurally generated, so even trying to put in an easter egg would be a huge feat. Also, the odds are extremely low for anyone ever finding the easter egg anyway.
it's unlikely to the extreme that the game manages to produce a planet so like ours that it would match earth at any point in it's history, much less have it generate an entire solar system that matches ours.

Really? The number of planets present in the game to me says there's good odds of an Earth like system out there somewhere.

I guess probabillity says that its possible but even it if did exist it would be exceedingly rare to find it. I watched a video where Sean estimated tht 99.9% of the planets would be undiscovered. So even if it exists no one will ever see it.
procedurally does not mean RANDOM. They CAN make the exact system they wishes by feeding said system the right info.

he has said EARTH is not in NMS. (maybe he lied and it is at the center of the galaxy)

Those caps are pretty intense.
Dev's have answered that in an interview, Earth and our Solar system are not part of the universe. This is fictional galaxies, no milkyway, horsehead nebula or anything you can view at the actual sky. Their might be other easter-eggs though, think spacewhales!^^

Yep. The odds of there being one coupled with the odds of someone actually discovering it mean we may not ever see it, but I like to think it's out there somewhere. :)

when asked that question Sean Murray said maybe and then thought for a second and said no. he must have realized there are certain features on earth that can't be generated by the engine.
Its no where near Easter!!! lol But youre good Peeps!
there cannot be an earth like planet, because earth has many biomes, every planet in NMS has just 1.

there could be a mars like planet though, it just wont have ice caps i guess.
Earth is not in the game, Sean Murry has stated as much. As for planets that are comparable to Earth, no also. The planets will be limited to a single Biome each so we would never see a planet with the biome diversity of a realastic habitable planet.

As a second point, Mars can not be Terraformed. While it was thought possible, Mars does not have a strong enough magnetic field to prevent being bombarded by solar radiation and to keep the atmosphere from being blown off. In fact the recent discovery that Mars has been loosing its atmosphere for a million years now due to the lack of a strong magnetic field.

So...terraforming Mars is out.
