Emptying one supply depot also empties the second one
I am not sure if I have them hooked up correctly. I have 2 Mineral Extractors, and 2 supply depots. I have the pipe running from the first extractor to the second extractor then it connects with the first supply depot and then the second one. Basically one pipe going straight thru all 4 units.
When I empty out just one, shouldn't the other supply depot stay full till I empty that one too?

All supply depots that are connected via pipes, in any way, are considered one 'unit'. When you empty one, you empty them all. The extractor(s) are considered part of the entire pipe chain as well, so even if you have 4 supply depots that are not connected to each other, if they are all connected to the same extractor, it's all one 'unit'.

The only way to make them separate entities is to use different extractors for them and to not connect any of them to each other via pipes.

Edit to add: If you don't want all the contents of a pipeline unit, you can pick it up and use the normal keys for splitting/changing the amount you are picking up from a stack. That will leave however much you don't pick up within the supply depots.

Oops I forgot to mention the most important part,,,,When I check my inventory, it only shows the amount of one supply depot, which is why I posted this. The supply depot fills up at 2500, both of them show 2500, but when I empty one out, they both are emtpy and I only show 2500, It sounds like a bug no?

By the way, thanks for always answering my posts, I appreciate it

The capacity shown on a supply depot is the total capacity of the entire chain of connected depots + extractor(s), not the individual depot. That's why it's labeled something along the lines of "overall capacity".

One supply depot only holds 1000, the extractors hold 500. So 2500 = 1 extractor + 2 depots.

Edit: Actually, I think extractors are only 250, come to think of it. You must have two extractors on that line.

And if you're thinking...dam, only 1000, those silos sure don't hold much. I agree. LOL

I do have 2 extractors actually. Clever lol thanks again I appreciate it

They all add up together. For example a typical setup I use is about 4 extractors and 49 storage silos, then you can go to any silo and collect 50k resource once it's full. I tend to put one of the silos next to the teleporter so it's super convenient

Same here. Imagine the outrage if we have to walk up to each silo to collect resources.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong if it's based on keeping the supply wire separate.
With my setup I have 3 extractors hooked up to each other and running to one supply depot then next to the first 3 I have another 3 extractors hooked up to each other and running to a different supply depot. The first 3's supply chain doesn't connect to the second three in any spot, but taking from one supply depot will then show the other one empty too. They're all taking from the same hotspot and running on the same powerline.

rough idea of what I mean with my setup
[ex]--[ex] --[ex] ---------------------[supply]
~~~~powerline ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [ base ] ~~~~~~~~~ [power hotspot supply]
[ex]--[ex] --[ex] ---------------------[supply]
What storage capacity does each supply show ?, 1250 or 2500 ?, if its the latter i
would suspect that even using the same power supply counts as connecting them,
If on the other hand you only show 1250 capacity it does indeed look like a bug
/edit/ and when you empty it do you get 1250 or 2500 in your inventory
I do not build big enough to matter. But I remember reading that at one time if there was not enough real distance between the networks that they somehow connected. You could use the same power hot spot and then put the extractors on different levels to make them not connect but had to make sure not to get too close. And that applied to both the extractor and the supply depots.
It's actually showing 3,500 at the moment but yesterday when I did the setup it was showing 1,250. I forgot to pay attention to the amount that ended up in my inventory after collecting. I'll try to make sure I check for that next time I collect.
