Exobiology Redux - Where The Hell Are the Eggs?
Every damn creature I have scanned or interacted with in the expedition gives me some form of milk, "berries" or rarely honey. I cannot find a single creature anywhere that gives me some kind of egg, let alone any of the three required types for the expedition milestone. WTF is going on? Is RNGeezus just screwing me over here?

Big dinos = Giant eggs (at rendezvous 3)
Medium dinos = Creature eggs (at many planets)
Striders = tall eggs (you will give your first 100 born Gek to find)

I had two of the types of eggs from a planet in the second system I went to and was just missing tall eggs. I sold them though, because my inventory was full and I assumed the objective would remember what I "had" gathered.....I was wrong. I haven't found anything but giant eggs since.

RNGeezus is not screwing you over, because the way the game works isn't based off of RNG for what you find on planets. The entire galaxy is already pre-set, based on a seed value, so we all see the same planets and same creatures. Those eggs gotta be out there along the expedition route somewhere.

I'll post here if I find them again. I'm about to start the game up and go back to it.

In the Galaxy Map look for planets with lots of Fauna +10 and land. Pause, take a deep breath of "load time" and see what Fauna spawns near you. Diplo's give giant eggs, Tall eggs from the Ant like critters (the can be small), and Creature eggs from others.

If you need coords, someone will follow up.

This is annoying AF - I'm already past the 4th rendezvous and don't have notes or coordinates about where each prior rendezvous was. I've done all but three of the Expeditions (this one, Leviathan and the pirates one). None of them have been as annoying as this one milestone seems to be for me. None of the others have made me feel like I need to go backwards to a prior location to find some rare item.

I found creature eggs on Planet Harote in the Rendezvous 4 system (Annana-Anyun) just now. It's also a Swamp world, so it knocks out goals for two other milestones if you don't have those already. The fauna that give the creature eggs are all over the place, so you can't really miss them.

How do you start the Exobiology Redux expedition exactly?

From the screen for starting a new game, expeditions appear after all the difficulty option choices, over on the right hand side. You must start a new game to do an expedition, so that's always the process for it.

Found Tall Eggs in system Hivaleyms III on planet Izonakr X. The system is right next to Ogaets XII on the Galaxy Map.

Just finished baking the cake required.

hi there are two type of eggs I know of.

1. you can get "small eggs" from feeding some animals

2. you need to make a creature "a companion" by feeding it 1st then interacting with it an adopting it and wait something like 20+ hours before it will gestate and be ready to lay the hatchable Big egg you're looking for and bear in mind your required to get 3 eggs at some point. you will get an option in the creature interaction menus to get the egg once the creature is ready to lay it and you just pick it up once laid.

also in your companion menu options your best to get at lest 3 companions quickly as possible as you have to wait about 20+ hours for each animal to gestate an egg.

you can call a creature right to you from the companion menu but animals need to be in the right environment in order to lay eggs too.

The eggs we are after are the kind you get from feeding wild creatures, @Dyerektor, not the ones you get from your pets after waiting 24 hours.

There's are 3 different kinds of eggs required by the expedition, tall eggs, creature eggs, and giant eggs. They are all food ingredients. Another step of the expedition requires you to bake a cake, and the eggs are useful for that step as well.

There's no such thing as "small eggs" in the game, unless you were just referring to their size, and not their actual in-game name.

hi aw fs :steamfacepalm: thanks for that I'm beginning to dislike these missions they want me to redo the a guild Which I just tediously completed in my main game. :steamsad:

LOL, yah, I"m on that step myself...and also just completed it in my main game. :-/

One of the expedition goals does require the type of egg you were talking about, from a companion, as well. And then for you to take it to the anomaly to sequence it.
BUT, the expedition actually gives you a companion at the start, and it is ready to lay an egg the moment you begin the expedition. The planet the expedition starts you on is also the right type of planet for it...so you can get that egg immediately.

I've done all the expeditions and I agree this one is probably the most annoying.
However, the trick to it is in its theme: 'Exobiology'. You're supposed to be studying the various forms of life in the universe, including the lifeforms on planets.

So relax. Check out a few different planets... Say hi to all the critters. Hang out with all the lifeforms for a bit. Hug them goodbye when you leave. Take it easy.
If one mission is being difficult for you, stop and do a different one. They tend to solve themselves out together as most of them are intentionally related.
None of the missions are actually difficult, unless you make them difficult. That's what I learned from doing this expedition the first time.
