Nah, one of the technology enhancements you can find is an auto-recharger for the thrusters. Additionally, another one improves the efficiency and reduces fuel use. Both are vanilla augmentations.
What's your difficulty setting?
Though, in my game, even on the highest setting, with the recharger module plus 3 S-class upgrades (for fuel efficiency), I haven't had to recharge thrusters at all. My Living Ship is the only one that isn't able to keep up with it.
things in-game are "upgrades" or "enhancements"... terminology is important...
Edit to add: Heck, even with the term mod being short for 'modification' it is accurate for those tech mods, seeing as they do indeed modify the performance/functionality of the technology they are applied to.
Never knew that existed. I've always refueled like forever. I don't mind it. I have to refuel my car all the time so it's not a big problem in game. Just one of those things you have to do, like cleaning dust off stuff and providing gas and electric... It never ends. NEVER.
Oh wait, I'm talking too realistic aren't I? I sometimes forget.
