Its called "The Sentry" and then it wants to be called "Laylaps"
Also, at the end of the quest when you free it from the Hive it asks to be called "Laylaps". If you refuse this request it remains as "The Sentry"
I wanted to name it "Colin" (Ref: HGTTG), but it is now free and has it's own identity so if it want's to be "Laylaps", "Laylaps" it is.
It may be possible a player transferred it from their inventory to yours at the Anomaly, if you have not done the Trace of Mission quest your self. Or perhaps you did do the mission and forgot? If the sentinel robot item (or pet, as that what it is in effect) can be transferred, like any other item resource that can be sent, then that may have been the surprise. But I can't confirm that
