Just like Fatherships, but more maternal. So soothing lullibies, chicken soup, and bedtime kisses.

I remember seeing them once in the game trailer but if I assume they will just have enemy/ally AI ships in them that come out when battles initiate. How else would a mothership work?

It will slowly follow you until it catches up to you. HG wants you to think you need to go planet to planet to see new cool explorables, but it's really to get away from the mothership. If you get caught, you'll then be beamed up and experimented on.
Simple: the motherships won't exist. Or if they do, you can't board with them. The closest thing to docking with a mothership would be the space stations.

there are motherships, weve seen fighters come out of larger ships before. This may not be the mothership youre thinking of but thats a basic one at least.

Do they also protest against fuel gap between fatherships and motherships, claiming that the military is giving them less fuel because they are opressed motherships? How terrible! Those fatherships should know their hangar!

Well, that's a shame. There was this mothership, but she looked a lot newer than she actually is, amazingly beautiful. The armor plating was still shining! And damn, those guns were stunning! And the curves of the engine bay were definitely 10/10I wanted to board her so bad!

But remember guys, there is only one mothership... respect and love her with all your heart. If you lose her, reloading your save will not give her back.

there are large military vessels, but they've shown nothing in videos that looks like a mothership to me. some that look like they might be cruisers, or carriers of some sort, but mothership? not that i've seen.

Well what do you mean by mother ship then, everyone's being very vague. I just assumed seeing them act as a carrier is close enough

One way to look at it would be all those little fighter you see have "a" mothership which will likely be the carrier they just took off from. It's "their" mothership, but not "your" mothership.

Star Destroyers are carriers for fighters, but they are actually fairly small ships, certainly not motherships. a Super Star Destroyer MIGHT be able to be considered a mothership, though I would just call that a battleship or a battlecruiser. Many people consider the Death Star a space station but it's not, its an interstellar ship, and most definitely is a mother ship.

so what is a mothership? A ship that holds smaller fighters, fight on its own, and act as a base???

Its a ship that is a mobile base and carries fighters, and usually doesn't want to fight head on.

hmmm mobile base...i can go with that. weve seen very big ships but i dont know if they were motherships. they look more like star destroyers from star wars
