If you are running Vista OS, is that really the least of your worries ?
Like me you probably have an older CPU, MB and video card ?... but i built mine using Win 7, but doudt that will help much in my case anyways, unless the game engine uses almost all GPU and very little CPU. We shall see.
But, you should check your hardware against the "minimum-specs" before you buy the game... any game... unless you can live with turning all the graphics bells-and-whistles all the way down and even off to get a playable frame-rate.
Good Luck
As for the hard drive space, it is no more than Windows 7, perhaps even less. The GUI is also very similar to Windows 7, and even has some advantages.
Had Windows 7 been released in 2007, and Vista in 2009, 7 would likely have been regarded as a terrible version of Windows, and Vista would have been praised.
Vista was mostly criticized back when it was released due to the hardware limitations at the time, and very poor marketing by Microsoft. This is why people would often revert back to Windows XP, as their computers were incapable of running it well. Unfortunately, people are sheep and give it unjust testimony without even trying it on decent hardware themselves. Like I said before, had Windows 7 been released back then, it would have recieved the same harsh criticism.
