Larval Core, refine or sell?

I'm new to the game and found this item while breaking eggs (and promptly scrambling onto a nearby rooftop.) Should I sell them or is it more worthwhile to refine them?

Depends upon your situation. If you're low in funds, they do cash-in for a fair amount. But if you need Nanites, using them to refine into nanites is ok as well.

Early game, gather and sell. DIg a hole down under the eggs at an angle. Go down in the hole and mine the eggs from below. They will fall and roll down to the bottom, where you need to pick them up quick before they disappear. The monstrosities will hit you occasionally, but not too often.

In early game, you may be needing Nanites more than cash.

True, Pul. But to the OP, nanites are plentiful if you don't mind running around repairing those little washtubs for 25-30 a pop. And salvaged tech refines to nanites if you go around and dig em up. Those larval cores bring big money, if memory serves. 2 or 3 abandoned buildings and you could finance your second starship.

One way I found of making some nice money in the beginning was by selling chlorine. You can find huge crystals in the ocean, they will give you about 80 chlorine a piece. One 250 stack of chlorine goes for 150k units. Little risk, little effort. I would advise you use the larval cores for nanites instead.
Oh, but you do need an advanced mining laser upgrade to mine those crystals.

True, as they are big money and the nanites may not be much. idk. OP, could be out harvesting Sentinals and converting the Pugneum ...
