Teleport bug
Going to assume I am screwed at this point, but I took a teleport to some space station (first time making a teleporter) and decided to go out and look around. I explored some planets and made many auto and manual saves along the way.

Sadly, it seems to be far too late to simply revert to a previous save, and I appear to be stuck. I have no star map and I can't teleport to anywhere else. I am just... stuck here.

Is there any known fix to this?

That is an odd situation. When you say teleport...do you mean the kind in the space stations...smallish, round structure...or a portal...large intimidating structure found only on planets?

If it was a portal, you need to find it and go back through the one you came out of. Go to space and look for a purplish icon...if you have jumped systems, you may have to retrace your route back to where it was. Typically, your discovery page will give you a recap of your most recent disoveries...this can be helpful.

Edit: it occurs to me if you did use a teleporter...did you upload your base before you left the base? You may have to go to space to find your base...should be a very obvious icon on one of the planets in the system. This is probably not the issue...but never hurts to check.

I'm confused you said using a "portal". The big ring you have to charge and use glyphs to make work causes the not being able to use star map or warp out of system effects your describing (that's by design). But you also said "making a teleporter" which describes a "base teleport module". with the latter you can only travel to places you've already been to.
That being said if you used the teleporter you should be able to go to the space station and go back to your base (it will be marked in destinations). Or build a new base computer then build another base tele to return.
If you used a big Portal then you need to go back though it (they are only for temp visiting). You need to find the Portal POI marker (looks like alien artifact marker) it should be auto highlighted ie glowing ring around icon if you originally traveled through portal. Once you go back through you will be degimped.

If you play MP you first have to finish session by returning through the portal.

In SP the teleport feature will only unlock fully after you have warped several times, and this is only recommended to do after finishing the Awakenings tutorial missions. If you went through a portal in SP, the teleport will not work, here too you must first return through the same portal before going on playing normally.

I am not terribly experienced with this game, so I am not following what some of you are talking about.

I made a base for the first time on some planet (when everything was working) and eventually made the teleporter and placed it inside of my base. From that teleporter I chose a name on the list, assuming it was the only space station in my system. After arriving at a space station that was not of my original system, I decided to explore some planets. After a few hours, I realized that I no longer had anything displaying on my star map, so I couldn't travel anywhere.

From that point, I went back to the space station I had originally teleported to and opened it up in hopes of returning to my original teleporter/base. When I accessed the teleporter in the station, nothing was showing up what so ever. So here I am, now completely stranded in a single system, with no way to leave to another one via hyperspace, nor teleportation from the space station itself.

You need to delete that save and start over. What you're describing isn't possible. You can't use a base terminus to teleport out without having first warped in your star ship twice. Secondly, you can only teleport to places that you have been before in your starshp. So clearly your save is corrupted. Start over.

Not sure what you mean when you say "warped with your starship twice", but I have already unlocked and used the hyperdrive thing many times and have been to 10~ different systems and space stations leading up to this event.

Upon further research, I finally figured out what is going on, but still not sure 'why' it exists in the first place.

The first teleport I took was to Hofunakab Stellar Observer (seems this name can be different between players, but the planets in the system are not), which is right next to the planet 'bensavirgin'. Apparently it is some kind of community event system that is located at the center of its own personal galaxy.

I ended up downloading a save editor, typed in some coordinates I found online (anything that works really) and put in the galaxy my original save was in. At first I had no idea to know what that might be, but for me it ended up being simple, as the first galaxy we all start in will be "Euclid"; it only changes when you make it to the center of the galaxy and go through it apparently.

My question to the devs is this.... if you have a community system and you are done with it.. why not just delete the thing and avoid bull crap like this from happening in the first place? I can't believe how many istances of bug reports there are surrounding this community event system and the seemingly notorious 'bensavirgin' planet.

Anyway, if you have no back up saves to fall on, then your only way to escape that hell is to download the editor from https://github.com/goatfungus/NMSSaveEditor

I researched this for another person over the last two days. I recommended using No Mans Connect as it lets you teleport all over. So you teleported using the Save Editor? Didn't know it had a function like that.
Anyways I'm of the same thought why is this ended community even system still trapping people? I understand the being kinda being portal gimped during the event. But these event systems are supposed to exist outside the regular game play. You should only be able to get in via portal. And if the Devs are planing on keeping the unique system it should be ungimped. If not the players stuck there should be purged out in some fashion and the system erased.

You guys all get confused because the game mechanics for teleporting, warping etc. are different in MP and SP. It's like I said above - so read again: in MP you enter through a portal, you leave through the same portal whatever you do. Same for Community Event missions. And if you don't play MP, then start the game in SP mode or do not join any MP session. Simple like that, do it to avoid trouble.

Then, for the 100th time in this forum: make backups of your savegame folder so you can switch back. And keep Cloud Saves disabled.
