What?! Tornados aren't allowed to have their fun too?
I usually run inside - bravely, mind you - and have at least 2 walls between me and outside to avoid "riding the whirlwind".
Otherwise, the tornado just has it's way with me, and not in a good way.
This was only the second time I 'rode' a tornado. It was insane how high it took me. @Chipmonk, I definitely can see how in a permadeath game one would really want to avoid them. I have a permadeath save, but not playing it currently. I wanted to get used to the changes first, so I made a new survival difficulty save for Waypoint/Endurance updates (I didn't play at all between those two updates).
If you are on PC (I don't know about other platforms) you can conveniently back up your game files, Permadeath in particular before trying anything. At least then you do have a way to return to your Permadeath before anything unfair happens to your game. It's meant to be awkward to restore and it is, but I think that's fair play if you potentially could lose an enjoyable permadeath game due to a bug or rendering glitch, especially on a less powerful graphics PC.
Oh??
