I don't think I've ever seen a piece of software like this game that can run so well on one machine, and then not at all on another. Even machines with similar hardware can have totally different experiences. It's almost like they used a custom built development platform to code it, and then forgot that nobody else in the world had that platform. You mean to tell me the 12 people involved with making it over the course of 5 years didn't, at some point, think to take it home, install it on their PC and then report back?

Umm, are you new to PC gaming?
I compared the original pcbanks folder and i can tell you that the content has gone from around 2.51Gb with 62 files to over 5.03Gb and 124 files now with all the updates thus far, seriously, like wow. This is good.

Given the same kind of problems are occurring for this title on PS4 as well, seems more likely the code versus being a PC platform item. Even the PS4 users, you get some reporting slowdowns, bad FPS, crashes, and some that can play for hours without issue. That is a nearly static configuration.

A couple months from now you will most likely get a notification that I updated this discussion. Please stay subscribed to it until then :)

lol, i wont care then brah. Kinda funny you already plan to care for that long BUT that doesn't address the fact you where using yourself as a source does it? Keep trying.
I clicked on the link and it doens't come up with any new information than we already know? We already know you need 10 Atlas stones to give up if you are following the path and that you get a new galaxy and started on another journey. Correct me if I am wrong but that was the whole reason for the recent backlash for people who 'completed' the game using the Atlas path...they felt cheated and that the game never provided you with an ending or an explanation as to why you did it all in the first place. It just chucked you back to the beginning with a broken ship in a new galaxy.

Also who is luxy to have this unique information on them fixing broken portals? I have been trawling the internet and there is nothing out there? Is luxy a gaming journalist? How does he have information and confirmation that the portals are broken, confirmation no-one knows about or is it just yet more speculation? Not wnting to troll but genuinely interested? :-)

I dunno if this means it is good or not but yeah its now 124 files and over 5GB.

NMSARC.audio.psarc seems like its a new file.. 941MB which is what the sound developer for NMS might have meant by new audio was on the way "soon" from CobraTV.

The more I dig, more I'm finding stuff I haven't noticed before.

There is a lot of NMSARC.MeshPlanet files, NMSARC.TexBiomes, NMSARC.TexCreatures, NMSARC.TexAtlas, NMSARC.TexEntity and other files that are new.

Hes most likely just looked at the news page for the game and seen that it says portals now have some meaning, he then decided not to read the rest of it or even take into account that it's not actually HG that has added this to the game it was a mod that added it, this update will do nothing for portals yet again and from the size of it is just more useless fixes for people that doesnt have the minimum requirements in the first place. the 1% as HG put it.

I thought that too but the PCBanks folder has doubled in size, adding over 2GB of data.

No, timely patch notes aren't exactly their strength. Checked the support page and the pinned experimental forum, but nothing yet.

Anything they do isn't their strong point it seems.

Wär ei ken chänge thi feiles on AA ? Ei onlie see fxaa and smaa ohr whad iz neuw ? Ei stil bäd fps !!!
Oh.... this is a shame. Before this patch I enjoyed being able to hold the E key and move my mouse over my discoveries to rapidly upload them. I could also hold the X key and scan over items in my exosuit inventory to rapidly tranfer them to the ship.

With this version, I have to press those keys separately every time for each item. I expect this is how it was meant to work originally but it sure was more convenient before they "fixed" it in this build :(
Well now I can entering planets with 20+fps now :D
Mhhh, apart the initial forever loading screen (only the first time you load the game, then gets normal) my experience with the new experimental patch is that my FPS dropped from 60 to 30/20 and the low part of my ship is glitched and transparent.

Well, it's called experimental for reasons. Before they patch the game with this they must make something for the FPS so to help who was getting problems and leave alone the ones that were running fine.

I've read of the workaround in the .ini settings, but .ini editing can't be everyone solution. Vast majority of players just want to fire up the game and maybe tweak an ingame setting and go.
The patch made my ingame expereice MUCH faster. Walk speed is now almost where run speed used to be. Run speed is FAST!

Game still ran into the molassas effect after about 3 hours of game play.
BTW, I think this patch did away with the stacking of some items. I salvaged some crashed ships and nothing stacked.

Urg, carite sheets and microdensity fabrics should stack to 100, that was not a bug, it was clearly written in the item description!!!!

Lol, as if inventory management was fun already!

Opting out the exp patch for now.
