Sentinel boundary maps gone?
I started a new game when 4.0 came out; since then, I've battled countless sentinels and sentinel waves, but I haven't seen a single Sentinel Boundary map drop. In previous games I would get at least one any time I fought any reasonable wave of sentinels.

Have they removed these from the game? Pity if they have - I found them quite useful.

Did you check all the Salvaged Glass? I opened a bunch post 4.05 and received a few of these maps you seek.
Yep - hundreds and hundreds of salvaged glass, and not a single boundary map. I still usually get the "Sentinel pillar has been revealed" at the end of taking down the fifth wave, but no maps.

They're still dropping. Just a bit of bad RNG for you lately. It'll pass. : )

I got one while digging up salvage containers. I thought it came from the container but might have been from the sentinel that came with it.

There's a chance that any you opened moved directly into a ship or freighter inventory, grouped with any previous.

@Caramirdan: Nope. I'm thorough to the point of being obsessive with inventory - definitely no boundary maps in any of my storage; I even checked my exocraft (even though I don't know how a map could get there).

It sounds as though they're still there, and as @AmberAnvil said, I'm just not being lucky with the RNG at the moment.

I'm not certain but I think the sentinel maps have a greater chance of dropping from the robot sentries like the quad robots and the taller mechs. Depending on the quality of the sentinels they may not appear immediately and may take some time if multi-tool tech is not upgraded sufficiently for a quick defeat. Battles and drops can be prolonged by leaving Summoner Sentinels alive. if you reach the fifth wave of course and defeat the giant walker robot the pillar is revealed by default without needing any maps.

Also I think items will find their way into free inventory slots with similar items in any overflow of loot or resources. Also I think your mech minotaur robot with AI enabled will also gather loot to its inventory too during a battle but I have no idea what happens to overflow salvage glass loot, when its inventory is full.

Soloing sentinels can be exhausting but great fun. I don't know if drop rates improve in co-op group play with more players and more chances. Probably not but they may be found sooner.

I too started new saves w/4.0 and the maps are still present. The drop rate might be lower than before but def still get them from Salvaged glass

I also started a new save after 4.0 and am still getting the sentinel boundary maps, but only when I get a third wave attack it seems - I also got one from one of the pirate loot drops when doing a destroy pirates mission.

Buried Caches have them pretty often since 4.05 patch. I have about 5-10 on me alla time.

Yeah, Pirate missions in pirate systems in particular, can drop all sorts of things and sometimes have items as the reward for the mission when handing them in for completion. Pirate NPC vendors and landing NPCs in Pirate Systems also sell things you do not often see at all in regular space systems.

True. Light black S-class fighter ships....
