Expensive Items and Where to find them?
I have found rare bones worth 1.2mil, but I don't want to run around RNG'ing that.
I went to a molten planet in a red star system and found Storm Crystals worth 200k each during firewall storms. Made 100mil just farming them, this was a huge boost in my ability to get things.

Is there anything expensive similar to Storm Crystals in value which can be mildy easily to get in Green Systems? I'm assuming blue has the most expensive stuff in it such as activated indium?

Frigate missions ftw for casual millions at any game difficulty.

For 10s of millions you will want to start crafting.

Raiding pirate fleets 10-20m per system. Minimal risk and fun to blow things up.

Buy contraband in pirate system, sell in regulated system. Millions in profit.

ALl Helpful answers, thank you. Might not have been what I was completely asking for still useful, thanks.

Salvaged scrap is at least as valuable as bones.

You opened the door to hear everyone's pet money making scheme. For the storm crystals and bones did you use the new trade rocket?

This. You can reset them multiple times, and it's amazing when you get the "pod" or "box" type freighters cause you can literally just shoot in a line and take out 1/2 a freighter in seconds.

You can also buy unregulated goods at Space Station / Trade Posts to add to your ill-gotten spoils.

Thanks everyone for the answers. I'm still new to the game (60 hours in) so I dont know half of what you are talking about but when I see it I will know.

My advice is that you shouldn't rush to get money fast. There is a hard cap on how much money you can get and you can reach it quite fast.

Storm crystals are worth ridiculous amounts of credits for sure. Scrapping ships requires an initial upfront investment but can be quite lucrative and you will be swimming in nanites. I think I have over 10K nanites just from scrapping ships. The slowest way to get credits is by building mining camps but it is lucrative. But you can also do it the hard way and just find a green star and mine Emeril or Activated Emeril until you get enough and then sell it. You can use your trade rocket to sell it and keep mining. There are thousands of deposits on one planet and fueling the terrain manipulator is very simple. Eventually you will crash the market but its still worth a ton of credits.

If you want tons of ferrite dust and ferrite just fly over a planet that has a lot of small rocks of ferrite dust and blast away with your photon cannon. You will have tens of thousands of ferrite in no time. Use this to fuel your terrain manipulator and you can also build quite a bit with it or refine it into something else.

Materials within the game now can be found everywhere and it is simple to get a ton of them. It is very easy to make credits in the game.

Any planet that has Salvageable Scrap will add up over time. If you don't want to waste time digging up "junk", the item in the salvage container is proportionate to the number of nodes protecting the center -- 2 nodes is a blue item, 3 nodes is a purple item, and 4 nodes is the yellow really rare stuff.

Bones are just random no matter what.

Don't bother with Activated Indium farming, they nerfed that, and hard.

You can make a Circuit Board farm and IIRC that still pays. It's 880k last I checked per board, and you will need a decent sized base to do this. It takes 1 bio-dome of frost crystal plants, 1 bio-dome of echinocactus, 4 bio-domes of star bulbs (2 if you don't mind checking twice daily instead of once), and 4 bio-domes of solarium. This is assuming you are using ladders and not doors to enter your bio-domes with (and/or assuming you're not using the exploit to grow plants where a door entrance is).

You'll need to learn the relevant recipes from the recipe machine on the Anomaly, but once you get these set up, along with a trade terminal you can get 880k to 1 million units per board and such a farm should produce about 5 boards per day with only a few minutes needed to pick the plants and craft the boards. You'll need to craft the silk and the capacitor, and then combine the two into the circuit board.

It takes some time to set all of those biodomes and plants up, find an EM Hotspot to power it with (unless you turn base power off...), etc but it's a nice passive income that you can check once a day, even on days you don't intend to play.

You may be thinking of salvaged data?

Uh, no I was actually thinking of tainted metal. Oh well.

Tradable goods are easiest for what you're looking for .. buy tradeables from the space station, look which economy they can be sold in, warp to that economy and sell them for profit.
