What to Supercharge?
Throwing this thread up so people can give advice to one another on how to get the most from these new Supercharged technology slots.

Now that Supercharged slots are in the main game what do you guys think are the best technologies to use in them overall?

I've noticed on my current primary ship (A Class Solar) that the best thing to Super Charge for my weapon and shield is the actual weapon and shield technology, not any of the S class upgrades I have for them.

If I supercharge an S class Shield upgrade or S class Photon Canon technology my total shield cap and weapon DPS is lower than if I Supercharge the basic technology.
Although with weapon at least the fire rate and heat dispersion is much higher when supercharging the upgrade.

That said on my Pulse Engine the best result I get from supercharging is my S Class Harmonic Hydrogen Dynamo upgrade.
Supercharging the Engine itself is also decent but gives less Mobility than the S Class upgrade provides and ironically Supercharging the Solar Sail upgrade actually gives much less Mobility than Supercharging the Pulse Engine.

As far as Multi tools go the best damage potential increase I got seems to be from supercharging the basic weapon tech, not the upgrades but i've not done much testing with that yet.

So how are you guys using your supercharged technology slots?
What do you recommend boosting and why?
Let us all know ^^

*Update.
Found a good video guide for using supercharged slots so putting it here too for convenience.

Highly recommend watching the video and shout out to the Youtuber Gamer Guide for making it.

I supercharged the vesper sail on my solar. Provide a boost in maneuvrability (on top of the rest) which is good IMO. Plus I hardly need the pulse engine upgrade on the solar ship, with how efficient and fast it already is.
I was lucky and both the ship and multitool had slot next to each other for more bonus.
I put an upgrade to the scatter blaster in such a slot, but I wonder if it works. The base upgrade add 1 pellet to the shot, and while supercharged, it add 1.3. So, will it round up and fire 2 pellets instead of one, round down and still fire +1, or will it do some weird 33% damage pellet ?

As per topic it seems to be multiplicative, so supercharging the base item (like the gun or shield) will be even more amplified when said item have upgrades.
Examples:
No upgrade infraknife : 3577->5884 DPS unshielded = +2307DPS
Full upgrades infraknife (not the BIS upgrades but the best I have ) : 28617 ->46975=+18358 DPS
Full upgrades IK + one upgrade supercharged (on top of the IK itself) : 53369 (+6394DPS, which is lower than the initial gain)

This is also true with the shield.
Shield supercharged : 375.9
X upgrade supercharged instead : 369.9

So yes, I think it will nearly always be best to "supercharge" the base module first, then upgrade if possible.

This topic will be an excellent one, and I also subscribed. I'll experiment with freighter tech supercharged slots a little while later today.

For exo suit I super charge jet pack modules and x class hazard.

Most ships; primary weapon and shields, my explore has hyper drive modules supercharged for obvious reasons.

Multi tool, still testing this I want to see how it effects scanner upgrades.

While testing the Exp builds I was super lucky and got one slot in starting multi-tool and just placing the Scanner in the slot gave the following:
Minerals from 200 -> 250 units
Plants from 500 -> 562 units
Fauna (will update)

Adding : upgrading the Q resonator (the upgrade you unlock at the anomaly) for the infra knife gives + 1 cannon. Strangely enough, the gun DPS stay unchanged despite the fact that, if I understand correctly, it literally add one more gun to the minigun kind of thing (so you shoot 1 more bullet, which benefit from all the upgrades, making it a really strong upgrade).

Adding the resonator make the gun goes from 16k to 58k. Kinda weird making it 1/4th stronger doesn't do anything.

EDIT : having the resonator supercharged does make the gun shoot more (IE more DAKKA). Don't know why the tooltip isn't changing

I'm not on experimental but none of my s class ships have supercharged slots? Will this be released in the future at some point?

First: Make sure your game is updated then save and then reload your save 🤞
Second: if you are low on slots you may only get the SS once you add more to whatever item.

This is really good to know, thanks ^^
I noticed as well my ship's Photon Canon also got significant boosts to fire rate and heat as well as a flat DPS increase from supercharging the base weapon so it certainly seems to be worth it to supercharge the basic tech and then add upgrades.

I also got good slots with my Experimental Twitch drop Multitool.
I know the slots are random typically but I don't know if that applies to reward ships etc from Twitch drops.
If they are random then I got real lucky as two of the slots near one another in the top left of the tech inventory got supercharged on my tool allowing me to have 2 supercharged scanner modues in a 2x2 block which is typically how I like my tech laid out anyway.

I need to find the best combo of supercharged technologies but atm i'm getting good money from animal scans ^^

I tried putting my Polo bobblehead in a supercharge slot but I'm not sure it's doing anything. :2016weiner:

Exosuit X-class(forbidden) hazard protection, as they get almost 4X boost compared to normal slots.
Can't comment on others as they get a very small improvements from these new slots, so it's up to you what you want to improve a little.

yep, while Hazard protection got 250-270% boost, other technologies got like 25%... I have no idea what Hello Games were thinking honestly.
