Or you could say everybody is right until proven wrong. The cat box works both ways.
I think he's holding a pair of treys BTW. We'll see what happens at the flop.
Mate , thats why this is called a forum. its a gathering of ideas. you can go about your life keeping silent about every thought you have, or you can put your ideas out there and see what answers come up. I personally have never proclaimed myself an "expert", in fact my OP clearly states it is my theory.
I agree, very thought provoking and honest, at least you base your findings on facts
Doubtful, they hold their future careers and reputations on the line.
Who would hire charlatans. Their names attached to anything would bring instant PR disaster.
Well at least for now, unless NMS goes thru a complete overhaul
Aw, I wasn't referring to specific people Patch. No need to be defensive, and yes I do understand how forums work. I too have opinions, I just think being calm and nice to others is just a good practice. Here about this game, it can't really hurt to do that. I only refer to the "experts," as those using terms of certaintly, when there is no way for us out here to know things for certain. Alot of what I say is just opinion too, it's all fine. My only beefs are with those that claim things are fact, when they don't have the grounds for facts yet, and those whose only basis seem to be that of insulting and belittling those with opposing ideas.
I am not even bothered by the implausable theories, they usually give me a laugh. It only bugs me when some say the same thing for months, in angry terms, and doesn't bring anything concrete to back up their theories that they use to bash everyone with. I just like facts, and civil discussion.
Well said.
My experts comment, was taken from those that actually called themselves that or claimed to have insider knowledge that we didn't. It wasn't really a mockery of them.
its much simpler. development cost money, when the money ends you have to release, when the development costs become so high its questionable you get your money back you have to release, with every buck you invest in development you lower your potential profit. publishers are just the messengers for such bad news, not the source (mostly). they new thx to the hype train they would make a ton of money, so no reason to make a finished and polished game or take any risks
And the case is, HG is still not in control. The moment they open their mouth to say anything about NMS they'll have an army of still very angry people immediately beat them down, and it's going to be that way for years to come. If they try to make an announcement about anything NMS related, it'll be plastered over dozens of gaming website where the writer will butcher them with the usual linguistic speel and the comments section will need fire extinguishers to douse the flames. Simply, there isn't any coming back from this, there never will be. Like Aliens: Colonial Marines did to Gearbox, No Man's Sky has permanently tainted Hello Games as an untrustworthy and unlikable company that no amount of hard work or dedication could ever cleanse.
Don't get me wrong, I like NMS as a relaxing sci-fi exploration game, but I know enough to know that there isn't any fixing what they've done.
Or, after death threats for just a two month delay, and some serious nudging from SONY, and pressure from everyone, they released what they had since it was playable at that point and mostly fit what they wanted it to be. Every game goes down to the final release date with an intenal continuing argument about if it is ready "enough" yet to release.
Nobody even expects a game to be 100% at release anymore. Day one patching, followed by bugfixing, followed by at least one update; are all things games just budget for.
