Is this a "twitch" game, or can it be played comfortably on a PC?
Title says it all. I'm to old for twitch (Playstation, ETC.), but if its PC friendly I'll give it a go.

its very fun on PC, building is similar to Fortnite, with resource mining like minecraft, not much pvp, and the map is so massive you will never visit every single planet, I keep trying to make "towns" using multiple command computers

Cool, thanks.

This is a very relaxed game, go at your own pace, explore where you want, do what you want when you want.

PC (specifically mouse and keyboard) is actually much better for "twirch" games than a controller; when crossplay is allowed, the M+K players have a vast advantage.

But no, that is not an issue in NMS, this is not a twitch game.

Though you can get some good drops today and tomorrow if you link your account and watch people playing NMS on Twitch...

I have no idea what a Twitch drop is :P Man, I'm getting old :(

Is it better for an idjit like me to play on a server, or single player?

Always choose single player unless you're trying to meet someone in particular.

Once in the game, go into options, and turn off all of the ways other players can hurt you or edit your base. You can then decide whether to see other players or not by turning multiplayer on or off altogether. If it's on, you will see other players and their ships when you're in the same place (even in single-player mode), if it's off, you won't.

Twitch is an online channel where you can watch other people play a game you like -or at least are willing to watch. It makes no sense to me either.

NMS gives twitch drops (usually cosmetic addons for your game) as a reward for watching Twitch. It is probably some sort of marketing deal where maybe HG gets free advertising or payola for participating in the reward aspect.

Well, I'm sold.

So it's over the top with the best of luck, and give 'em hell! Thanks, folks.

By using the word 'payola' you have revealed your age. Don't worry, I won't tell.

Just make sure your PC is reasonably new otherwise the initial shader compilation can take a very long time.

FWIW: twitch is more a broadcast network like COMET, QUEST, NBC, etc... streamers each have their own channels... effectively they have their own TV shows that you can watch...

their show might be them playing a game, just sitting and chatting, maybe sharing things they find on the internet and want to talk about, or even real life going places outside their studio... the neat part is they have live chat where you can type to others in the community as well as the streamer and the streamer can vocally respond to your typed chat...

You are never too old for Twitch. I know of a lady that recently turned 80 and is pretty ace at World of Warcraft, and her streams.

Also, NMS is a good game to stream.

As an old player ( 50+ ) its a nice simple chill out game just exploring the universe. As for twitch; why watch a person play when you can do it yourself :)
