you could also use a map to find these sentinel note to disable them on a planet for a while
or you use this invisibility gadget for the multitool
I suppose I could do that every time I land, it just it seems a little over the top and tedious. Like, when I just want to do something quick in my settlement and so land there, I'm often in 1st sentinel wave during the time it takes for the game load me out the starship (seconds). :(
It's well worth killing them anyway, if you can manage it and you definitely can with a little practice, even with a brand new char and a basic boltcaster. Find a building and bunker in the door, pick them all off. They won't attack you when you are inside, even if you are killing them. They'll even come inside and let you shoot them, hands tied. The mechs wills shoot into the doorways though. You can make a lot of nanites this way. Ofc it takes some time so just run/be quick about your tasks on that planet if you don't want to get sidetracked.
