Nutritional Refiners not in Freighter build menu?
I had a little kitchen area set up on my ship with 3 nutritional refiners. I removed them so I could move them to another room... they're in my inventory, and were previously on my freighter without an issue (even post update)

But now I can't place them because they aren't in the build menu anywhere? :/

Don't tell me there's some kind of nutrition refinement room I have to conjure up like 5 modules to even get the blueprint for and so they removed the old freestanding ones :c

I think so?

Many/most functional things (refiners, food cooker, planters, etc), have been made into full rooms now. Unlock them at the freighter upgrade console on the bridge, a new page between the colors & engine upgrades.

edit: one salvaged module per unlock, but they're in trees, so you might need to unlock one or two things before it.

That really sucks, honestly. It's cool that's an option but removing the ability to use things we had before is just really annoying. I love the refiner factory vibes but for the kitchen it feels nicer being smaller scale.

I was super excited for this update but it's looking like it gives less customization options, not more :C

Actually it gives you more as those processors didn't vanish. You still can build and use them - just not on the freighter. There you got new things to build. Which is a plus, not a minus. You have more options now, not less.

You have options, "just not on the freighter." :/ On the freighter, you must use their prebuilt rooms for everything.

In a base on a planet you "have to" use the processors. It's basically the same. How do you customize in your planetside bases? By arranging things the way you want. Same is true for the freighter and the rooms. Kitchen areas are still a thing. Good looking ones, too.
I was watching Twitch and one streamer had a refinery in the agricultural room. I didn't see how he got it but he was saying "oh we can cook now?" LOL

Haha when I first walked into my freighter, the 3 I had were still there? I'm wondering if I had used the "move" button, maybe I could have scooted them down the hall and saved them.

That's...kinda stupid, tbpf. Having to reunlock functionality I already had (and on such a massive scale, and with no compensation for resources invested), is kinda lame. This isn't an Early Access Title anymore, they shouldn't be doing this kinda thing on the whims of the developers.

I didn't have to 'reunlock functionality' on my freighter. The new rooms based on tech that I already had - trading, storage, missions, refiner etc, were already unlocked in the new build menu.

Ahhh you put it into smart words. Yes this. I'm interested in the new building options and everything, but it shouldn't come at the expense of losing what we already had?

So you want to say that you - really and honestly - would have used the rooms ALONGSIDE your processors in your freighter? Sure about that?
Now you have a reason to use the new building options. Having the processors still available (and this doesn't make sense on a freighter tbh), you wouldn't have build a single cooking room. Why, when you already have a processor, right?
Actually you're just saying that you want your old stuff back and use your old stuff. As it was. Without any new changes.
And exactly this is the problem. And this is why they removed the old stuff. So that people use the new stuff.
And honestly: Unlocking the room for one single salvage module isn't something not achievable. And now the freighter looks way more unique, compared to all those 08/15-planetside bases.
That's a win.
Just accept change and don't be a 80-year old, grumpy man, sitting in his rocking chair, complaining about "In former times all was better." - because that's a lie, told by people who just aren't able to go with changes and to go with the flow of time. Obstinancy, born out of being old.

I wager they'll add them back in the future after some optimization. I don't like having the nutritional station in the greenrooms, personally.

Yes? When I was building rooms, I set up the big green space with all the plants, and then used the old rooms to make a more industrial-looking square that was set off from it, and started putting tables and chairs there to have it be like a park-side grill situation.

Only uhh there's no grills. :/

Like idk, not everybody wants to just smash some building blocks together and call it good. Customizing your ship and having things look nice is part of the game, and it feels they've taken a good chunk of that away by saying "no, only big rooms. Your only option."

And the frigate modules have an alarmingly low drop rate. Unless they've somehow changed that for this patch, their highest drop rate is 5% from derelict freighters unless you get lucky on a high-difficulty industrial frigate mission. At least that's the info from the previous patch, idk if it's changed.
