I haven't tried taking anything because I can't fit it in my inventory, but I assume you're talking about somthing different? If it was a copy of one of your storage units that you could take from without actually removing it from your storage unit, of course, that would be another duplication glitch.
that's funny ...an award for you, my good man ...
Since Endurance NPC freighters come with randomly preset additional rooms, they differ in every freighter and cargo rooms are amongst such possible rooms. In your own freighter such cargo rooms will corrispond to cargo slots which are separately shown, you can rename these slots too and to get into them you have to use TAB > scroll with Q/A to reach them.
Now, other posters below question wether this was my own cargo room. I'm pretty sure it's not, because I use to place such special items (that I have stolen in that freigher) in a dedicated container room of my freighter, and in that case it was all mixed-up, not my way to store items. As said, in this NPC freighter I was able to open the dialogue with E in that cargo room, then my exosuit inventory would appear on the left and that cargo room content on the right, I just have transfered valuable items (there were other items less valuable, and definitly NOT an arrangement that I do in my own freighter), and then transfered these items into my own freighter.
Not every NPC freighters will have such cargo rooms, also called Container rooms, so to reproduce what I say you need to find one which has such a room. You should be able to point on the yellow moving holoicon and then open the dialogue with E.
I will try to repeat this action and report here.
First I was thinking this too, but now I'm pretty sure, read my response to Faceplant8 above for the details.
Well, I may have got lucky only 1 time doing this, I'm not sure if it repeats :)
(changed coz i'm old!)
