Money - Saving, Spending?
Obviously money is good for S class multi-tools and starships. But those aren't really that expensive. Is there something really expensive I should be saving up for... Is all this money I happen to have just for buying starship storage?

You will get storage modules much cheaper than buying them as upgrades. Selling the upgrades you get from this is also the fastest method of making nanites without glitches.

Well that's good to know. Are the drop rates really that good?

Yes, actually. You can get more than one scrapping an S class but A classes are 50/50 if they drop one. Either scrap a lot of A's in a rich system space station or hunt for S's and exotics in a pirate system's trading post.

Well I guess if I scrap shuttle type ships, then it would be worth it.

If you're going to get more than 1 living frigate then prepare for some HUGE sticker shock. Some S class are 1 billion units.

I better save up, I only have 534 million, after 80 hours.

No they changed it back to around 55mil for an S class last patch. Too bad cuz it was a good money sink for late game.

You don't need any money in the game. You can get everything you need for nothing. I just did a save where I didn't buy anything - no stuff from the station, no maps, no upgrades, no recipes, no blueprints - nothing. After 200 hrs, I had a fleet of exotic ships, a nice freighter, 2 S-class multi-tools with everything in and a thriving settlement. the only things I couldn't get was additional frigates, and the only way to get the secondary weapons upgrades, like shell greaser was to find a multi-tool with it already fitted, and the same with ship secondary upgrades. The normal upgrades (S-class) were fairly easy to find. It was a lot of fun figuring out how to get everything for nothing. Personally, I think the game should have stayed like this from the beginning.
