What on Earth is this? It says 'Boundary failure but it's totally different

It says 'boundary failure'. Nothing in the wiki (or anywhere) about it. Any ideas?
(Boundary failures are normally those big wheel things but obviously it's not that).

That's a multiplayer interaction. You can create boundary failures with another player (well, you could).

Oh you found one! That goes way back! This was before the game had player characters and you could not see each other. This commemorates a place where two players did indeed meet up.

As others said, that's a "monument" holdover from when co-op players could create one when they met. They only appeared as floating globes then. I guess Hello Games didn't remove those old things.

The current "Boundary Failure" is a giant ring with which you can interact and get lore.
