Do ships return to trading posts ?
So im flying an A fighter as my main. and I had a small base next to a trading post. I noticed one of the same model, and was listed as S ? So I went over and confirmed it, but as I was working on another ship I found that had crashed. So I couldnt trade in the same ship. So I ran back to my base which was a short run, and then got in the Fighter and flew back and laded on the pad, and went to the side the S ship was at and it was gone.. This was all under a minute :/

Will it come back to the trading port if I hang around ?? or is it gone forever (unless the RNG rolls another S of the same type?)

This.
It can happen in a short amount of time or it could take you weeks/months before spotting another one.

Okay, to solve your issue:
1. Build a save BEACON. It's the antenna one. Place this ON TOP of the trading post. If you are inside, go outside and jetpack higher. You want to be all the way on the roof. This'll give you the greatest field of view on incoming ships.
2. Make a manual save.
3. Reload manual save and look at the ships circling the post with your analysis visor, that'll tell you what the names are and what class they are. You'll lose out on this info for a few seconds once they queue up to land.
4. If what you want didn't fly past you, go ahead and reload the manual save again.

You may have to repeat this a few times.

To avoid being in this situation again:
1. Carry a stack of navigation data on you. Doesn't have to be a full stack, just a few in say your suit cargo or general inventory spaces. Just always have some available.
2. Press X to bring up the menu and navigate over to the section on summoning. You want to summon in whatever ship you want to trade when that S class you want actually shows up. You can summon that trade-in ship anywhere, I'd land it in the dirt near the trading post. As soon as you summon, it becomes your main ship. Whatever you landed at the trading post or were using before just stays where it is.

Oh dam im a lucky boy, Another S showed up like 15 mins after. So it was RNG ?

But I was almost unlucky, I had 29.2mil (it was 30.2mil with trade in). So I panik. But then reaized I could trade with him.. I had 2mil worth of buried tech, so I pawned it all. Just enough :)
