Looking for help - easier way to discard?

Hello. So if I play the game for a couple hours I end up hurting my finger from using the middle mouse button to discard items from junk and inventory. (Annoying and ridiculous)

But when i try to remap controls I can't change the option... Does anyone know how to change the discard option? Or can I drag and drop items from inventory?

does anyone have any best practices?

Best way I've found is to have stuff you don't want in your cargo slots so it'll go there first, then you have to discard less often.

just chuck it all in your ship and next time you pass a GTT or a pilot...sell it all

You can get a ship, drop stuff you don't want into it and as soon as its inventory is full: Fly to a space station and scrap it. All this junk will go: POOF

I don't want to carry around junk as it take up slots that can be used for much higher paying inventory... but hey it seems like that is the option.

This is sarcasm... But also correct.

Why not stop picking up useless junk and focus on only the necessary items to get you through to a point you can add room.

In order to get items in crates and /or damaged machinery, you have to first clear off the junk... so you discard, or store for later.
