Other than that:
There are people who state that if you leave at least one thing in your freighter inventory upon trading in for a new one, you will receive the message box in which you're asked if you want to have your base taken to the new freighter.
Might be worth a try.
There was no reverting back unless I did some sketchy Steam Cloud manipulation at the time or I was prepared to backup save files (which defeats the point of Permadeath).
Otherwise I would have reverted back well before ranting here.
Why the hell haven't I heard anyone pitch a fit about this by the NMS YTers I watch?! That is a big deal, especially for an update that is focused on freighters.
I'll give it a try, maybe, but I doubt it will work. There are different pre-existing parts on the ship, which is how I got two things (a scanner
I'll post on the ZenDesk when I'm less ticked off and hurt. That was 20 hours worth of hard grinding, gone; made worse by the fact that some stations either didn't have the stuff I wanted, ships glitched by not showing up, or that high economy places don't have the thousands of pooled resources they used to have. At least I got a couple harvests in and the freighter I bought didn't break the bank.
I feel like I died and lost most of my Permadeath progress.
Do you not know how to think?
I did permadeath runs - and I had more than one save.
Why?
Because you have to be weird/masochistic to not make backups in NMS-permadeath runs.
After hundreds of hours on Survival, doing Expedition #7 with the minimum required deaths, and seeing a fairly stable game, I thought it was safe... Only to get gut punched and curb-stomped in one swift action.
Look, I'm continuing on and reporting this after awhile. But let's not argue over terms. I want to know how common this is so I can better report this.
Yeah, NMS is good on that.
As of how common that is: Judging by some threads there are quite many people with the same problem. And up until now I didn't see anyone who didn't had this problem (besides solving it by this 1-thing-in-inventory-workaround). Which makes it fairly safe to assume that it's a general problem for all.
all those reloads for nothing......
Edit: confirmed. you need to leave atleast 1 non tech item in so you get the transfer items dialog which will also give you the transfer base.
wow HG fix that please.
So, being a tad careful cost me my base.
To be fair, I can see how this bug slipped through the gap, even for people that have regularly played.
Time to write up my report.
Btw, thanks for the link.
NO you have two saves.. You have an auto save and a manual save. Permadeath does not change this.
Do you need a screenshot?
Permadeath currently does not have two accessible slots. I only have one save, and that is the more recent of the Auto Save or Manual Save.
I don't know if or when it changed, but it is acutely evident right now that it is one slot.
Edit: (And no, I'm not going to save scum the manual back somehow, if it is possible; which has already been overwritten by now. I'm moving on from here.)
This trick worked for me, thanks for the heads up SaD!
